I am current applicant hoping to get in berkeley for applied math. My current GPA is 3.7+. I get all A's in my IGETC table but the problem is I am not doing really well in my math course. (C+ in differential equation, some A and B in all calculas class). Do I have a chance to get in. I really want to be in there. Any people transfered in to UCB for math and have similar situation as me can share something?

I am also doing math econ major for UCLA. I got A in both econ class. Am I safe to be in there?

My class ENG writing class is like B+ for both.

Greatly appreciated for answering my concern:)

PS. I am international student.

Hey dude, you kinda scare me:(

Cuz some of my fd got 3.7x last year, they all get admitted. But the point is they had a good grade in math class but I am not. But I am in the same GPA range as they did.

Most of my CC classmates got accepted in applied math in cal. But they were all math tutors.

why u want to do math if you get B’s and C’s in math classes…upper divisions are much harder, u may get D’s or F’s.

happyaray: I am math tutor at school as well. I tutoring first cal class in my college.

mattinber: it is what I am interested. I got A- B+ A B in four of my cal class. The reason for why is that math is difficult so I cant get A. But for those IGETC class, I can choose some easy one to take that’s why I get A in all of them…

^ that’s what i’m saying, low major GPA clearly is not a persuasive evidence for Cal to accept you.

That’s true…I feel so stupid that UC don’t look at spring grade. All my friend took the most difficult math class in last year spring and get all B and C but they had already admitted my cal. But I have to report it. Are you doing Math major mattinber?

yeah, i’m pure math major, just applied this year too
