@Madridpatrick I’m seeing people who say their addresses were continuously switching from 4-2. so, my question is has mine already switched to two? this is so stressful.
Wait is it you have to have four addresses, or if you have four addresses or two addresses you get in?
a big thing this year (big in my eyes) is that none of the students elected to the student body senate were transfer students. Transfers make up a large part of the pop. at ucb and deserve recognition as such. hopefully those of us who get in (even though i am sure we all deserve it) will go on to take on a senate role or other leadership role in the school to advocate for transfers (looking @ you, polisci majors)
@hailey5799 according to last years thread people saw their addresses go to 4 addresses but then it went back to two. so, I really have no clue.
@hailey5799 don’t stress it! The admissions officer at Cal during an info session literally told me they love CCC xfers because they don’t want a campus full of robots walking around lol!!! I know exactly what you mean, I also work full time and attend full time as well and its no cake walk. And yes I know the calc struggle all too well. I am currently working my ass off to get a B in calc right now. Math is my weakness right now only because its difficult finding time to practice and study between work, school, two dogs and making time for the wife so that she doesn’t kill me lol. I plan on dropping to part-time once I transfer though!
Wait are the 4 addresses shown right now? or was it a glitch and then it went back to 2? Im so confused?
4 addresses, last name starts with N, LA area, media studies major. I also received the alumni scholarship email
I also have four addresses, Last name starts with a D, Central Coast area CCC, Poly Sci major.
@GoldenState1 This four addresses-two addresses glitch it stressing me out a bit lol. I know that kids that got in as freshmen worked hard to get there, but that doesn’t discount the rest of us. Same, calc 2 is going to probs be another B, I just am struggling to find the time, but I’m still trying for an A, math is a weakness as well lol.
the 4 addresses are still up for me haven’t switched back to 2 yet and they weren’t there yesterday
@OhWhatsHerName I know so many people who transferred to a CC after going to a 4 year they never wanted to attend. I was supposed to go to a CSU but withdrew before classes started and I’m so glad I did! I preach about CCs to everyone lol
I know I’m late to the game, but I thought I’d add my stats to the mix here. I go to a CCC. Four Addresses as of right now, I really doubt that means ANYTHING though, honestly.
Where I’m applying: UCB, UCLA, UCSB, UCSC, UCSD
UCs I’ve heard back from:
UCSC: accepted with Regent scholarship
UCSB: accepted
A few unique things first:
-I graduated high school two years early
-Was homeschooled my whole life except for freshman year of high school GPA was 4.0 I think
-I have, after graduating early, finished community college in a year and a half (rather than two) in what would have been my second semester HS Junior year and Senior year.
School: California Community / two-year college
GPA: 4.0
Major: Political Science, IGETC certified, will graduate with AA-T
Courseload: Really heavy. Right now I am taking 24 semester units.
Midterm report: All As
Letters of rec: Two really strong letters (I assume) from teachers that know me well.
Work experience:
a) Internship with the City Manager’s Office (August 2017-present, about 6 hours/week)
b) Internship with a City Council member (May 2017-Current, 5 hours/week)
c) Summer camp teacher (Summer of 2017, about 65 hrs total)
d) Horse trainer (2016, probably about 100 hrs total)
Leadership Experience:
a) Founded and now chair an officially recognized democratic club - The ______ County Young Dems club
b) organized several protests
Volunteer experience:
a) Various democratic clubs in my area (2016-present, near 70 hrs)
b) Theater staff–ticketing, spotlight-op, etc. (2014-present, somewhere near 100 hours)
c) School events–ushering, greeting, setting up etc. (2016-present, 10 hrs)
d) Women’s shelter (2015, 5 hrs)
e) Director’s aide - (2012, 15 hrs)
College clubs: (I am active in all)
a) Theatre Club
b) Environmental club
c) Book Club
Awards:
a) ‘Dean’s Highest honors’ Spring 2017, Fall 2017, and hopefully Spring 2018
b) Excellence in the Humanities grant at my CCC
c) Charlotte Perry award for best supporting actress (high school)
d) Second place in my high school’s Poetry Out Loud Competition

a) Over thirty musicals + straight plays (2009-present)
b) Theater tech. experience in five shows.
c) Just began 4th level dressage and I have some jumping experience. I have won first in a few local shows.
d) limited: skating, surfing, soccer
And yeah… The stigma against transfers, especially CC transfers is so infuriating.
I went to a CSU for one semester and left for CC! Best decision i ever made i only wish i just did CC from the start
@futjewlaw : hey kiddo
All: I am a real Recruiter. Your resume will say UC(whatever), and that will be what everyone looks at once you are out of school. Ignore the negativity you hear regarding CCC transfers, and even your major choice. There is snobbery around STEM vs non-STEM, CS vs IT, at UCB.
My co-worker has only two addresses showing but they’re the extended zip code and he did receive an invitation to apply for the Alumni Scholarship. Honestly, I don’t think the address thing means anything. I think it’s a systematic where maybe the system was able to verify the correct extended zip code and in others, it may not have been able to? I live in a new address and I remember when I signed up for utilities it had a difficult time with my address because it was a newer street.
Also started out at a csu, so thankful for what cc has done for me.
@lifeissoobtuse well four addresses or not Id be shocked if you didn’t get in. That’s seriously so impressive, congratulations!!
Still sifting through last year’s applicants - Those who got in or were waitlisted had 4 addresses. The 4 addresses stayed up for a while. I hope this isn’t true, but im starting to fear the worst for those of us who only have 2
Also, who else is in class right now completely ignoring the lecture
@lifeissoobtuse I agree, you’re application is impressive, if you don’t get in, I don’t think half the people on this thread will get in tbh, including me, because I don’t know how much more you can be outdone.
