@GoldenState1 ooooh I heard about the new major they’re adding…I was thinking about doing that too! Do we have to take any additional classes in order to declare the data science major as well? Berkeley is definitely my #1 choice - but this wasn’t always the case. Berkeley has a much better economics program, recruiting events on campus, and better career placement which is what swayed me to Berkeley. I prefer UCLA’s campus and vibe to Berkeley, but I would certainly give it up if it meant that it could give me better odds at success in the future.
i was going to do a java bootcamp for summer sesh but i dont have like 5k to drop on one class so it’s back to self teaching : )))
I’m not checking any of your tricks because I love myself and yet again don’t remember my portal password.
@choukevin You have to take a foundations of data science lecture and lab which also meets the calc based stats prereq for Econ so its a no-brainer. Looking to take it in the summer if I get in. And yep that’s exactly why i want to go to Cal. Even if I were to go to school elsewhere, my goal is to start a family in the Bay Area, its booming with jobs. Logically it makes sense for my goals and my wife works in SF so its a no brainer. Data science is the #1 in demand job rn in the country.
my friend and i are preparing two boxes for when i check decisions w champagne and hits of the 70’s for acceptance and whiskey and sza to simp to for rejection
I’m getting tore up one way or the other Friday @getoutmeswamp lol
Everybody who got the 250 payment so far, is your major in College of Letters & Science?
@iStudy Yes!
I have some friends who applied to COE and haven’t heard back anything (250 deposit, new cal admit…) only some of them have the 4 address on their portal. Does the COE have different committee for decisions?
@iStudy my addresses went to 4 again today, I seriously doubt it means anything. Probably just something that updates regularly as they make changes to the accounts…doubt they are actually indicative of anything definitive.
@iStudy yeah L&S.
To those who didn’t get it, don’t panic. It may be that only students flagged as PRESIR get it, but then again the PRESIR might not be a sign of anything.
If I wasn’t torn between Davis and UCB, I’d pay the fee and then add that to my appeal in case I get rejected or waitlisted “But I paid the fee already!”
@smsk I am not a PRESIR, I only have NOTREGISTERED, but also have the 250 deposit avail in my finances
@GoldenState1 Sweet, I think I’ll also be looking at taking it during this summer if I get into Berkeley then. It seems like we have a lot of interests in common, best of luck to you on Friday! Only thing is, I hate the Warriors lol

@smsk I have the $250 SIR deposit and am an L&S major but my status has changed from PRE-SIR to NOTREGISTERED
Not even worrying about these. Only 2 days left guys! We all got this. Just be patient.
I think the pre sir thing is non indicitive of admission since someone in another thread said they made a cal central with a non affiliated email or application as a test and they still had that so I think everyone went from pre sir to not registered so it yours says not registered I wouldn’t worry
Is there any financial aif related info in there, like what award you will get.
First time poster!
New admit tour notification. I called the visitor’s center and they said that tours are open to everyone, even non-admitted summer students. But she directed me to a different page than the one CalCentral links in the admit tour notification.
I don’t know if my addresses have changed, I haven’t been regularly checking my portal. Both my addresses have the extended version I put on the application.

I wonder if this means anything… I need to get off this site
