@Arikari Society and Environment!
@viviantong oh cool! That’s in L&S to right?
@Arikari It’s in Natural Resources! What’s your major?
@viviantong I’m a comparative literature major, most likely going to minor in writing or double in Communications, that is if I even get through the door first lol
@viviantong I’m not seeing the “provisonal decision change” either but hope it’s a good sign for you. AAAAAHHHHHHH this is killing me why don’t they tell us ALREADY!!!
@diane6239 I know right! I’m so nervous!!
It sounds like Haas waitlist decisions will come out this week. Has anyone called L&S asking about their waitlist?
@TheRubberBandMan I tweeted admissions but have not called. They responded by saying they will be out on a rolling basis untill July 1st, super vague.
@Arikari yeah that’s not helpful haha I honestly don’t see why they would need to take a WHOLE month to decide. But whatever, there’s nothing we can do except wait!
@ArikariArikari I thought that the applications are reviewed as a group. You sure that they mentioned rolling basis?
@hobsonsregister I think this is how the process works:
Let’s say that they let in 15 people from regular decisions, but only 12 of them decide to go. The admissions committee will group together all of the waitlisted applicants and choose the next 3 qualified candidates and offer them admission during the first wave. Now let’s say that only 1 of those 3 decide to go (so now there are 13 spots filled), admissions will once again group together all of the waitlist applicants and pick the next 2 qualified applicants for the next wave. They will keep doing this until they fill up all 15 spots or until they run out of waitlisted students.
@hobsonsregister yeah that’s what the waitlist letter said so I’m not really sure why they said rolling basis? Honestly I don’t even really know how they define rolling basis according to admissions lol “Transfer applicants on the wait list will be notified on a rolling basis throughout June and all applicants will be notified by July 1.” That’s word by word what they said.

Rolling basis means that they release them in waves, starting with the most qualified
@TheRubberBandMan then I’m definitely going to be last LOL
@Arikari same lol
Well it’s 330 aaaannnnd nothing lol guess today isn’t the day…
If you type in key words Berkeley and waitlist on Twitter it shows that a couple of the freshman got off the waitlist 5/5/18. So hopefully tomorrow ?
Wait. Nvm. That was for 2017. A few got off 5/7/18
I think people got off the waitlist on 6/6 last year. So, I think the first wave will be anywhere from June 5th-6th. I’m so nervous!!
