I got into these schools and I am trying to decide which college would be best for me in the pre-med route. I am looking into smaller class sizes, more research opportunities, good professors, and a better learning environment. Any insight/ experiences would help!!!
UCB will have large classes for undergrad stem classes.
Ds UCB roommate had pre-med ambitions and was valedictorian of her HS. She found the large classes at UCB difficult and her GPA was too low for med school. That being said, same roommate’s UCB boyfriend attends UCLA medical school.
ALL UCs have large classes and none of them is easy to get high scores for premed. You just have to choose one that you like and work very hard to earn your As. Tons of UC graduates got into med school, but most of the hopefuls cannot.
At Davis, BIS 2 ABC (first year bio classes for pre-med) are not graded on a curve. You are not competing against each other but are trying to succeed together. Davis is a very friendly school and study groups are very common. There are a lot of pre-med resources and support. https://hpa.ucdavis.edu/preparing-health-profession
Anyone else actually wanna add info into this considering UCB, UCLA, UCI, and UCD for pre-med?
If you’re considering other majors than bio and could see yourself doing anything beside being a doctor, UCB/UCLA (as likelihood is that you won’t lake it to med school - it’s HG cornucopia brutal BUT any other path will be excellent).
If you can’t see yourself being anything than a physician, then Davis
TBH, I don’t wanna consider another major than Bio/biochemistry. I really like the bio and Ochem series :C Not sure about OP, but im a transfer student.
