Hello everyone! I was just wondering what my chances were for getting into UC Davis. I did also apply to UC Berkeley, UCLA and UC Santa Barbara; however, it looks like Davis is probably my most likely destination with these following stats: (But please tell me what you think!)

I would really appreciate everyone's opinion! I have already asked several people that attend UC Davis and they all told me that I shouldn't be worried at all. But I just need some reassurance. So please, tell me what you think!

I’d say UCD would be a solid match. They have a 40-something percent acceptance rate, and your ECs are great. I’m assuming you’re applying in-state, and your hook isn’t bad either.

Davis is a really boring college town; I live near there. Most people don’t even bother applying, because they want to get away. But, hey, to each his own.

Yes, I’m applying in-state. And yeah, I know the actual city of Davis isn’t much. Getting into Berkeley, LA, or Santa Barbara would probably be more “fun” considering the cities they are in, but hey, education should be my priority.

LOTS of applicants apply to Davis. It’s a laid-back kind of town, perfect for a more relaxing college environment that will allow you to concentrate on your studies. If you want a little more nightlife/action, travel a short distance up to Sacramento on the weekends. I would encourage you to apply to UC Irvine, which has a nice culturally diverse student body and neighboring population.

Unfortunately, I can’t apply anywhere else anymore. The deadline has already passed. Basically, I’m relying on acceptance to one of these for schools. Do you think I have a good shot at Davis though?

oh yes, Sac is a little bit away. you can reach the bay area in about 40 minutes, after you pass the mountains in vacaville. @jshain, i was referring to the people in my area only. according to a survey done by the school paper, more seniors last year went to Cal/other UC’s than to UCD.

I applied to 4 UC’s and 1 private school - University of the Pacific in Stockton. I figured I was going to get into a UC anyway, because I qualify for ELC. I’m ranked 8th out of 315 graduating seniors.

ELC used to mean that you were pretty much into anything ranked under SD anyway, and your E.C’s are good enough to say that I bet you’ll get into one of the upper UC’s as well.
