i would go with haas if i weight out the cost and prestige. why go to penn and spend the extra thousands when you can end up the same job going to haas? ut is decent. miami is not even close compared to the other three.

UMiami is actually ranked prettu much on the same level as UT-Austin this year and with the head of Wharton taking over as Dean of the School of Business in 2007, it seems very much on the rise.

I am afraid Berkeley has no network in South Florida. UT-Austin has an MBA alumni chapter in Miami. But UMiami is pretty much on the same level in terms of rankings (what is really the difference between 52 and 83 especially when you consider the opposite direction in momentum). Wharton seems to have a legit Alumni chapter in South Florida: [Wharton Club of South Florida](http://www.whartonsouthfla.com/)

FT probably has the worst ranking out of all the rankings. I would not put much weight on it. McCombs is an elite/near-elite school. Miami is a 2nd/3rd tier school. I think you should listen to the suggestions on GMATClub, GClubber tends to more in tune with bschool than CCers.

I think FT is the only rankings worth something. All others have unexplained choices. For instance, in the state of Texas, BW ranks SMU ahead of UT and doesn’t even rank Rice (where I was not admitted). That’s garbage.
USNews ranks Rice #38, when according to FT it’s #21 in the US and 4th for Finance. Doesn’t even rank UMiami in the top 50. But there is UT-Dallas, UC-Davis, etc… That’s garbage.

It sounds like you have your mind made on UMiami. If that’s where you want to go, then go there. At the end of the day, it’s not our choice, it’s yours. We can just give you our opinions.
