@Indecisiveness33 If they don’t get back to you by Monday afternoon or evening, I would advise you to SIR anyway. Hopefully you do and everything is sorted out, but in the case that they don’t get to it I would say SIRing is a good idea. I don’t think they’ll reject you based on what you’ve said here.
@Indecisiveness33 I was told by my UCB admissions officer that as far as she has seen, multiple SIRs have never resulted in a cancellation of admission and the UC authorities just like to scare students by saying that you will be rescinded at both universities if you SIR to both. But, she also said that it is important to eventually tell one of the colleges that you are not coming, by email and with a formal letter.
UCI told a student here they could double SIR with zero consequences, but you shouldn’t draw it out.
Anyone able to see or complete their Golden Bear Advising yet?
@BlackDragon209 Nope.
@shayhello17 Thanks!
Okay I missed the deadline for some financial aid things because I was accepted to Berkeley after the deadline. Residency form, things like that. Anyone know if this is a hard deadline? That would seem unfair to miss financial aid because of that.
Just want to make sure, atm are your finances showing you folks all paying out of state tuition?
@sarah38 I doubt they’d penalize us like that. It was their decision to accept us late and we’ve been shuffling to turn in everything asap. Even if there was a hard deadline, there would be some sort exception clause for us.
AH~~ It’s MONDAY Again!
Based on they wont work on weekend, I estimated that all solutions will be shown before June 30th, Friday 3:30 p.m.
Dude, Only 5 days Left! Lets prepare to celebrate this horrible month and our worrying heart will be relax.
What ever the decision is, we will have some places to go, and open our eyes.
HOPEFULLY, we can see each other at UC BERKELEY!
For the first time that I think this weekend is too long lol
If anyone was able to do their Golden Bear Advising and/or get their AC Transit Clipper Card, please let me know. I just want to know that I am not the only one with this problem.
Same. Golden bear advising is missing. From what I understand it takes a few days for the system to update.
Anyone hear anything today?
Made an account to chime in. I was wait listed for poli sci haven’t heard anything back yet. Basically already gave up but i love berkeley so there’s a part of me still holding on.
At the time of the waitlist opt-in deadline my grades were not out. I ended up getting all As one B+ in mostly upper division poli-sci courses. I shouldve probably done this earlier but just now i uploaded unofficial transcripts document with my spring grades, dont know if it will do anything now.
Super annoyed that theyve made us wait this long but i understand some wait list spots come as other waitlisters reject the offer which is a possibility.
from this page i have been given a slight bit of hope. but as of now im committed to UCSD.
to throw in some shade i will say MANY transfer international students from my CC in Santa barbara were accepted to both UCLA and Berkeley. which bummed me out bc Ive lived in CA my whole life and i was accepted to neither and the uc system is intended to help CA residents, not people from sweden whos tuition in their home cities is free… its ok though lol im excited about UCSD
Golden Bear Advising is still not available for me. I called New Student Services again, & they said that it should be updated within the next couple days as all waitlist SIRs are submitted.
It seems that the deadline to submit our proposed Fall schedule is July 6; we should have access to GBA in time.
I was wondering what everyone is doing for housing. I’ve applied for Cal housing and Berkeley co-op housing and looking at off campus housing. What do you guys think are our chances of getting on campus housing? Also, do you guys think I should rely mainly on off-campus housing?
@aero24 I’ve found a place off campus that’d I’m 90% sure I’m going to take. I wouldn’t rely at all for on campus housing. That’s risky business. I’d write it off until you hear something back.
@Aero24 I’m looking for off campus housing. Hopefully I get some scholarships so I can afford a small decent studio.
I’m waiting for my EOP verification to go through so I can apply for a co-op; I’ll get priority on the waitlist as an EOP student. I’m not counting on co-ops though. I’m sure the waitlist is super long.
@galacticqueen same situation here. I ve already SIR to UCSD but still having hopes on getting off the waitlist I wont have a good sleep until the wait is over
