It seems no people under Mathematical & Physical Sciences division on waitlist has heard back yet. check this https://ls.berkeley.edu/divisions-and-units. Basing on previous information that @shayhello17 provides, UCB may send out decision by division.
What strange is @BlackDragon209 has got off as appealing student for ls cs major, so I don’t know what is going on here, because our assumption is waitlist goes first, which is not the case.
I just got accepted as a psych major. I can’t believe it; I feel like crying omg!! Thank everyone for there support, I couldn’t have made it through without everyone’s contributions.
Is today the release day for social science major? I hope more offers for stem major will come out soon ~~ You guys are the best!! Because of you, the whole wait thing is less painful
HOLY $^%@!#!
I JUST GOT ACCEPTED!!!
I was not expecting this AT ALL. I didn’t put much effort into my waitlist essay and I’ve regretted it ever since but I guess the original application was good enough!! I’ve been getting pretty invested in UCLA so this gives me an incredibly difficult decision to make. Either way, I am absolutely ecstatic! Congrats to everyone who got off the waitlist so far and good luck to everyone else! We all have bright futures ahead of us, regardless of where we go.
Also my stats was:
Psychology major.
GPA 3.4 no ec activities. Full time worker and students. Didnt feel like i had much going to impress them. Wrote my essays last minute.

Pre-Reqs: done
ECs: Strong
Essays: decent
Waitlist Essay: nonexistent
I’m honestly so confused as to how I got in. I feel bad for my friends who got in on acceptance day but were offered spring admission, whereas I was got offered Fall. I got waitlisted by UCLA and Berkeley, but UCLA was my top choice. After being accepted into UCLA I kinda forgot about Berkeley. Just finished my first day of class at UCLA today too aha.
Congratulations everyone who got off today! For those who didn’t 'tis alright. You’ll all do well, everything is going to be just fine. College is a blip in our entire lives and tbh it doesn’t matter where we went. It’s Berkeley’s loss that they didn’t take you and it’s the colleges that accepted you who are awesome for recognizing your hard work and achievements. College admissions are such a random process that are so, so, so difficult to understand since admissions officers are humans like us too that make extremely tough judgements that easily could have gone the other way depending on the moods of a couple admissions officers.
LIfe is all about how we take advantage of the opportunities we have. Any and all of the UC’s are fabulous schools that will let you reach anywhere and everywhere you want to head to afterward. Be that a career in academia, the work force, law, medicine or anything else we might want to dedicate our life to.
We’re headed off to university! How crazy is that? In a matter of months we’ll be studying subjects with some of the best instructors in the world at the forefront of their fields. We have the drive and passion to do whatever great things we set our minds to. Who knows? Maybe you’ll be back at Berkeley for grad school one day or maybe you’ll even pass Berkeley to take an offer to study at Stanford, UCSD, UDub or another fabulous institution? The future is our’s to shape. Good luck in everything you do!
