I was just wondering, according to the USNews, UC Berkley ranks 20. But I've noticed many of the people in CC compare UCB with ivy leagues or other great schools. I thought Berkley was similar to UCLA, Berkley just slightly higher. If Berkley is that good, I don't know why it is 20th....

It is overrated for undergrad, but probably a little underrated for grad

Berkeley has one of the most highly regarded science graduate programs in America.

well, I don't think ranks are too reliable since they take different factors into their rankings and it's different every time. you can't just mush everything together and rank them.
last time, I think, when like newsweek or times ranked the colleges Berkeley was actually rated 2nd... so yea...

I think their undergrad program may be a little overrated, but their grad school program is excellent.

A little higher as in Berkeley ranked 20th and UCLA ranked 25th?

Maybe comparable because Berkeley is ranked 20th while Ivies like Brown and Cornell are ranked 15th and 13th, a small difference? Besides the fact that Berkeley beats many Ivies when it comes to graduate schools?

This is generally accurate.

^ That is accurate.

I feel that Berkeley is a bit overrated as well.

I love it when people make threads with the intent to criticize a school, yet can't even be bothered to spell the name correctly.

Love it.
