It was kind of disappoiting to figure out that UC Berkley for Fall 2006 has only 21% acceptance rate for most Social science majors....

Yea it is a major bummer, but we have it pretty good compared to Evon and business majors.

All the numbers on that page are exactly the same as last year. I think they've just updated the template to read "Fall 2006" in a few places. Besides, I found that page months ago when they couldn't have had those numbers yet.

think about this...berkeley is a top grade institution....the mere fact that they have a 21% rate for transfers is amazing

I wonder what the admit rate is for those who cannot spell the college's name correctly.

ROFL, jackass :-p

Haha, if I were an adcom, and I saw that, I'd write his rejection letter personally.

Where is this information located?

g1a2b3e you and your fellow mrmuirc are such a smart students that if I were adcoms I would let you have your Bachelors degree without actually taking any classes. Nice boys...

where did you find those stats for admittance rate by major? Does anyone know percentage for comm majors?

Tallkell, here is a link. Mass Communications is listed under 35%. this is for 2005.http://students.berkeley.edu/files/Admissions/Transfer_06.pdf

Oh dear...psychology has the 2nd lowest acceptance rate next to Haas...not good...

Thanks Sandkicks..35% sounds much better than ucla's 16%...WAITING SUCKS!!

architecture is at 34% of the 31%...only time will tell now

Thanks for sharing.....

the waiting drives me crazy...

wow. Haas is only 8%...
Does anyone know if the acceptees are mostly from CC or from other 4-year?

mostly from CC

yeap...how many times do we have to go over these sorta things lol...

COMMUNITY COLLEGES HAVE PRIORITY.......

sry, don't mean to get anal about it, but this is like the most basic thing everyone should know about transferring to any UC...

No wonder you love California... wait, no wonder you love California Community Colleges :)

I know Berkeley's admit rate for social sciences is for the whole department, but I wonder how major plays a part in it. I would love to know how impacted sociology is compared to psychology or political science. I wonder if they have a quota of how many are allowed to be admitted into each major. Major has to play some part or most of the admits would be from the most impacted majors, based on the fact that those majors have such a high number of applicants and must hold the highest gpas. Anyways...I am sick of this wait and over analyzing everything.... be done.
