how are these calculated?

Take your grades in academic (a-g) classes from 10th and 11th grades and calculated the weighted GPA. Honors, IB, AP, and college classes get an extra GPA point.

Honors and AP (weighted) courses are capped at 8 semesters. After 8, they are calculated as "normal" classes.

Then if it is capped at 8 semesters, then shouldn't the highest possible UC GPA be 4.3333, and not 4.5 like what everyone is saying?

52/12 = 4.33333

??

so only 4 yearlong courses (8 semesters) are given extra weight value???

So is a 4.2 a good uc GPA?

do pre-ib courses get an extra point?

i've never heard about that 8 semester cap. Do you have a source for that?

AHH IM SO CONFUSED ABOUT CALCULATING THE UC GPA'S.
1. Do Pre-IB classes get an extra point?
2. Are non-UC approved classes like journalism counted in the GPA.
3. Do STANDARD LEVEL IB classes get an extra point?

You can look at the online list to check if your classes get honors points.

where is this list?
