You have a great gpa but you’re test scores aren’t that competitive. You have strong extarcurriculars so that will definitely help you. If you have a strong essay I’d say you have a better chance. You’re obviously a very hard working student but SAT’s aren’t for everyone I’m the same way I’m a terrible test taker

Davis would be your best bet :)

I would say you are Reach to low reach with all schools. Need to get SAT around 1900 to be competetive. I hope you have some backups

one of my backup that I would like to attend is San Diego State University

Sorry but your SAT scores are too low for the UC’s and don’t match your GPA. Berkeley, San Diego, Irvine and Davis are too high a reach. The UC’s look at numbers=GPA + SAT. Your GPA is good, but not as good as what the other students in the state are submitting. The UC’s get hundreds of thousands of applications. Try Merced and Riverside.

Take an ACT and see if you can get close to a 32. Your SAT should be around 1900+.
SDSU is impacted, as is Long Beach. You may want to try Bakersfield, or Chico.

For SDSU, calculate your Eligibility index; (CSU GPA x800) + (SAT M+CR). If your EI is 4100+, you have a good chance for acceptance. For CSULB, you need around 3900+. Good Luck.

SDSU/CSULB would be matches with your EI. Good Luck.

What do you think my chances are in Irvine? Is it true that they really look into your Personal Statements?

Average UC GPA for UCI last year: 4.05
Average SAT last year: 1867
You are around 300 points shy of the average. Intended major will make a difference on your chances.
The UC’s will look at your personal statements, but how much they influence an acceptance is only a guess.

Have you calculated your UC GPA? <a href=“GPA Calculator for the University of California – RogerHub”>http://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
UCI: Low Reach

My UC GPA from the link you gave me is a 3.92
My intended major is Chemistry
Ive had two teachers and even a Frontier High School (the school I attend) Alumni who goes to UCLA currently and is within the admission office. She read my two personal statements and states for the second personal statement “Your second statement is incredible. Your experience is unique, and I really appreciate how honest you were”

As everyone was saying, your standardized test scores are too low for arguably the four most competitive UCs. I could see Irvine, Irvine, or SC working for you though. I would also try Cal Poly SLO since they are the “best” CSU school from my observations. However, your GPA and potentially stellar personal statements (and a wide variety of other factors like family income and ethnicity) could also make up for your test scores. Don’t worry too much about it!

could you chance me if you get the opportunity fren? :] http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1713808-what-are-my-chances-for-uc-schools.html

I agree with everyone else. Your GPA and ECs are great but the SAT score is bringing you down. However improving from 1500 to 1900+ is not a difficult leap. I suggest investing some heavy time into studying the SAT along with your SAT IIs. That being said, it’s pretty much reach for all UC’s except the lowest ones.

If you have a chance, please chance me as well.

Thanks!

That GPA is not great. It is crap for UC Davis and UC Irvine. Those ECs are okay, but they are not outstanding. Even if you magically improve your SAT score to 2400 (probably too late to take another test), UC Davis and UC Irvine will still be reaches.
