Hiii! So firstly, has anyone transferred from a UC campus or any CA university to University of Washington-Seattle?
I’m currently a freshman at UC Riverside, which I chose at first because it was the only UC that offered my major in Creative Writing. However, I don’t find myself happy here the least bit even though I have joined several clubs, tried to make friends, and involved myself in the school/school events as much as possible. Also, I am certain that I want to change my major to Journalism; but UCR doesn’t offer this as a major…
When I applied to UW, my dream school, in fall 2015, I was waitlisted. I talked with my mom about if I do get in, how would we pay the crazy out-of-state tuition. It would have been almost impossible to pay it for all 4 years, so I decided to not accept the waitlist offer for the sake of me having to not know that if I did get in, I couldn’t even attend. But financial circumstances have changed and my mom says it would be possible for me to attend UW if I wanted; and I’m going to apply for tons of scholarships to help pay for tuition.
I just wanted to know what I would have to do in order to transfer and what are my chances of actually getting in? Should I not waste another year at a university that doesn’t even offer my major and transfer to a CA junior college my second year, then transfer from there to UW? Or would I have a better chance of getting into UW if I stay at UCR till then?
