I entered in my course grades into the roger hub calculator and got a gpa if 4.41 capped. My school does grades by terms and I have received 29As and 3Bs with 16 term grades of AP classes. Am I doing the calculation wrong? I heard that the max capped gpa was a 4.4.
https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/ says for 29 A grades, 3 B grades, 16 grades for honors courses:
3.91 unweighted
4.41 weighted
4.16 weighted and capped
@ucbalumnus But shouldn’t you switch it from semesters to terms?
What is your term? Semester, trimesters or quarters?
How many grades show up on your transcript for each year long class?
How many Honors approved UC, AP/IB or DE courses were taken 10-11th?
@Gumbymom Our term is a quarter of the school year, 4 classes per term. So we receive 16 grades per year. 10-11 I have taken 16 quarters of AP classes.
This is the calculation I get. The maximum is 4.4 for the capped weighted but how the calculation is done, you get an extra decimal. For the UC’s, it is still maximum at 4.4.
Unweighted GPA: 3.91
Weighted GPA: 4.41
Weighted and Capped GPA: 4.41
(29 x4 + 3x3 +16)/32 =4.406
GPA is truncated, not rounded so that is 4.40
