UC Chances for a (major slacker) friend

hope he doesnt kill me for saying this. hehe

3.3 UW, 3.65 UC GPA. he goes to like the number 1 public school in CA though. Will have taken 6 AP by the time he graduates. his school doesn't let ppl take AP before junior yr. blah blah blah =P

rank: somewhere around 50%. his school only ranks by uw though. weighted its probably something like 30%.

2360 SAT(760 CR. he claims he didnt study either. lame)

800 IIC, 800 Bio

EC:
debate(3 yrs, won some local/school awards)
peer counseling(3 yrs, involved but no officer)
amnesty(3 yrs)

Jobs:
tutoring(about 5 hrs a week)

Misc:
summer internship at law firm
some CC classes
200 volunteer hrs at hospital

he applied to all the UCs except riverside and merced. please help him because he is a nervous wreck lol. thx :)

EDIT: I change my mind!

UCLA-Bound: Match your friend is lucky :)

3.65 weighted GPA with a 2360 and perfect SAT IIs at the number one school in CA? Wow... this one's hard -___-

I think UCs don't look into ECs and such as much as the privates do, so his tutoring and internship won't help him too much, but they definitely will a bit, I think!

I'm looking at:
UCB: Slight reach
UCLA: Slight reach
UCSD: Match
UCI: Safety

As for the others, I'm not too familiar with them, so I shall end here.

slight reach looks about right. your freind will go into the maybe pile and have his exc and essays read since ucla took on holistic admissions this year. if he was lazy on his essays and ***** like that, he wont make it in.

He's darn lucky with his SATs. I don't think he will be surprised by any of the schools.

not luck. sounds like a bright fellow. coinflip to get his chances.

ghost ride the whip!

haha.. your friend sounds like a brilliant slacker.. I'd say "slight reach" at UCLA and Berkeley with that genius SAT score.. the rest probably in.

Your friend is a slacker
how could he not be?
I wanna know my chances but I am too lazy to register for a nick lol

Public school tends to like gpa and test scores. GPA is bad, test scores are high in this case. I say a shot at everything except berkeley. I wouldn't be surprise if he got in LA or SD.

thx for responses

also, historically apparently around 120 ppl get into either berkeley or la every yr at his school and about 50 attend each school. just thought that might matter some.

Wish I had his SAT scores.. what a waste of intelligence :-)

Bishounen:

UCB/UCLA: Match
UCSD: Safe Match
UCI/UCD/UCSB: Safety
UCSC: Super Safety
