SAT Reasoning March: Reading 640, Math 760, Writing 710, Total 2110
Reasoning Superscore: Reading 670, Math 760, Writing 710, Total 2140
SAT Subject Math II: 800
SAT Subject Physics: 800

Extracurriculars: I did a bit of Key Club. If I would have to guess how many hours I put into it total so far, I would guess around 40 hours or so. I lost a lot of faith in these volunteering clubs after Red Cross was reported to have built 8 or so houses after receiving half a billion dollars in donations.

I also took an engineering internship at a local electric car charger company where we developed and built our own electric car charger with a J1772 plug.

I also started my own little “company” where I consult and build computers for people. It was a hobby of mine to build computers and mess with them but it became a little business when people started asking me to build computers for them. I don’t know if this is something I can write in my resume but I’m pretty proud of this.

I always joined CSF every year but didn’t do much in it.

Sorry this is badly formatted, I barely joined right now and I came up with the format on my own. Please leave a response with what my chances are with the schools I listed. UCLA, UCSD, UCBerkeley, UCSB, and USC. I’m sorry if I’m asking for too much, I just found out about this website and I plan on learning more from you guys.

I’m also full Korean, which I would assume make it harder for me to be accepted.

Thank you! ^^

HOLY CRAP, I forgot to put my SAT scores up here. I’ll put them up in just a second.

Added scores to main post. Sorry, for commenting twice, I just found the edit button.

Here is how to calculate your UC GPA: http://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
PE grades do not count.

I get a UC GPA of 4.05.

UCB/UCLA: High Match
UCSD/UCSB: Match

You are a competitive applicant and Good Luck.

Write the computer part in your resume. You have a good chance getting into UCSB, UCD, UCSD, but Berkeley and LA are becoming especially difficult, so don’t bet on those.

Thank you both Gumbymom and Bluedevildukie.
I’m probably gonna study for the SAT a bit more and hopefully try to get above 2200.
I appreciate the feedback!

Berkeley for engineering is extremely competitive so that one is a definite reach. I’d say UCLA is also a reach, while UCSD is a high match/low reach and UCSB is a match. USC is also a high match/low reach for you I’d say. Definitely try to get your SAT score up, or try the ACT if you haven’t. I honestly thought it was so much better than the SAT and I scored much higher on the ACT in comparison to the SAT. Also, capitalize on that computer building hobby, that could make for a very great pathway in an essay to describe why you want to be a mechanical engineering major. Best of luck to you! Hopefully we’ll both get in to the UC’s, I’ll be applying as well (except UCSD)!

Thank you JPhilly99! Best of luck to you!
