@DrGoogle So the SAT is much more reading-based? It’s funny because my high-income friend received a much higher ACT score (compared to his SAT), and my low-income friend received a higher SAT score. Simpson’s paradox maybe. Doctor parents versus non-high school graduate. Pushed to excel versus pushed to survive.
If the case is reading though, then I guess I’ll stick to the SAT. I developed a love for literature because I was alone for much of my childhood. I agree that it’s unfair though, especially since it’s hyped.
@collegeugh101 lol sorry, I made a typo. B+ semester one of AP Lang.
The academic standards are pretty low. People with a bunch of Bs and Cs are in the top ten. We had a testing breach a couple years ago, etc. Those with academic success are sort of cut off from the rest of the school… we used to incorporate achievement awards into pep rallies. Now we have our own separate assemblies.
I’d love it I got into UCB/UCLA.
I think, if youre better academically than all your high school peers, you have a good chance of getting into UCB anc UCLA due to the fact that they make acceptances based on local high school context lol
