What I have to say: (this is just a summary of my personal statement)
It’s about music and how it has affected my life. My mother was always going on about how I should learn to play the piano since I was given the opportunity. Her passing away in my sophomore year was the main reason I began to enjoy playing. I went on to compose my own piece and perform it for my school, and starting my own YouTube channel featuring the music I played. As the creativity flowed, so did my mind. I started to enjoy learning in school as well - it wasn’t so much different than writing a song.

  • My statement includes a lot about becoming more mature and having a entirely different perspective on life.
  • I quit playing baseball because I knew I was going to be needed to be home after several volatile situations with my family.

fam I’m sorry, but that test score won’t likely get you into any of the schools.

Disagree a little bit. UCLA is basically out unless you get your SAT up atleast 100 points. UCSD ehh, its worth a shot. UCI you have a decent shot at. Its a bit of a reach but i think if you write a great essay you would have a good chance. Your in at Riverside and Merced. Probably in at Santa Cruz. Santa Barbara and Davis, same as UCI.

What is your UC GPA?

If your UC GPA is below 4.0 along with your SATACT posted scores, I would chance you as follows:

UCB/UCLA/UCSD: Reach
UCD/UCSB: Low Reach
UCI: High Match
UCSC/UCR: Match
UCM: Low Match

If your UC GPA is 4.0+, then UCI would be a Match and UCD/USCB probably High Match/Low Reach depending upon how your essays and EC’s are received by admissions.

Good Luck.
