Essays: 1) I talked about overcoming ADHD as a child and how I overcame the difficulties that came with it.
2) I talked about how in my sophomore year I persevered through my math class that I began failing but ended up pulling through to get a B and how I developed a work ethic from the experience.

I would apply to UCI and UCD, very good matches! UCSB and UCSD are also matches. Merced ,Riverside, and Santa Cruz as safeties. UCLA is a low reach, UCB is a high reach. I would apply to UCSD for Econ; if you want to double major in Econ and Poli-Sci, I would consider Davis. I have similar interests as you; I wish the best of luck to you sir!

No subject test (though not absolutely required)?
No AP score?

Top tiers - reach
Mid tiers - high/match
Low tiers - low match

Do UCs even look at AP scores? And no subject tests.

I don’t think I’ll send them to schools until after I’m admitted but my AP Scores are: Euro:3 US History:3 Chem:2 English Language:4 Calc AB:5

AP score report needs to be sent to the school which you eventually will attend if you want credit. No need to send until you make a decision in the spring however, not self reporting the scores and taking the AP class may send up a red flag to admissions:

  1. Unable to afford to take the tests (reasonable explanation)
  2. You didn’t care to take the test or bad scores (red flags)

What’s your intended major?

@rdeng2614 First choice is Economics my alternate major is Political Science or possibly Anthropology.

@Gumbymom Ok that’s fine I just wanted to know if they will be used in admissions decisions or not. Also do I have to report which tests I will take this year when I apply, because I’m not even sure myself if I’m going to take an AP Test for all my AP Classes or not yet.
