Is your UC GPA weighted?

UC GPA is a UC-specific way of calculating GPA where approved a-g courses are given scores according to the grade you received and extra points are added for most AP courses and some honors courses, but there is a cap of how many bonus points can be allocated. It is usually not as high as a typically weighted GPA.

Back on topic, your GPA and SATs are both pretty good, and seem just out of reach of the top UCs.

UCB: 5%
UCLA: 15%
UCSD: 50%
UCSB: 80%
UCSC: 90%
calPoly: 70%

Good luck.

The cap vicissitudes mentions is 8 semester hours. Meaning that if you took 4 full-years of honors/AP/IB courses or more, you add 8 grade points to your total before dividing by the total number of units attempted to arrive at the UC-GPA.

Why aren't you applying to USC?
