rank?
you're good at SD/D. i think you'll get into LA or B if you wrote a breathtaking essay or there's something very unique about you (circumstances, activities, etc)

ucs dont look at rank (not elc, sadly)
:P
thx for chance ^

Well, some do. I think UCSC considers it important. Berkeley and UCLA don't. ELC doesn't matter to those, either.

Have you completed the A-G requirements, or will you before you graduate? Otherwise you can pretty much kiss any UC buh-bye.

yes i have...

Kyledavid,
It didn't even ask for rank anywhere on the application, so how could it be considered?

^^ probably by the information that's released at the end of your junior year. See this, for example:

<a href="http://planning.ucsc.edu/irps/OFFICE/cds_2006-07.pdf%5B/url%5D">http://planning.ucsc.edu/irps/OFFICE/cds_2006-07.pdf</a></p>

UC Santa Cruz says rank is "important."

just for future reference, SD rejected :(

That's pretty odd. Your SAT is right at the average, and your SAT IIs are strong. It was probably your GPA that did it, though I would've thought they'd take the rigor of your high school into account, as well as your "very rigorous course load." The rest seems good. And it's not as though you applied to a competitive major, either.

There's also the possibility of appealing. Do you have any new, significant info? Did you not include certain background info on the app that you should have (e.g. adversity)? If so, that would be grounds for appeal.

I guess this just goes to show that UC admissions are getting very competitive. I wish you the best of luck, dmission -- you're going to end up at a great school anyway, even if it isn't UCSD.

Davis and San Diego are matches. Berkeley and UCLA are reaches for everyone so I can't really say for sure. But if you did a good job on your essay, you probably have a good chance.
