Applying as an English major, if that makes a difference.

Yeah you should apply to UCSC because thats a match and its better than ucr or ucm. If you want to balance out your low gpa with a high SAT score, it has to be way above 1900. More like 2100 or at least 2050.

i was thinking i had a better shot at stanford/usc than most of my peers…even ucla, simply because the top students got rejected while some of the lower gpas were accepted…i heard their recs/essays were incredible, which is what i have going for me…wouldn’t i stand a chance then?

^Those cases are usually rare aren’t they? And I think those cases were usually exceptional..meaning they had some extremely spectacular EC. And statistically, the people who get into usc/stanford/ucla have a very high percentage of high SAT scores and GPAs.

not at stanford. I am sorry, but a 2400 wouldnt salvage you. Well, unless you are an amazing athlete and donate ALOTTTTTTTTTTTT of money. Its cool that your applying, its a funny feeling to know that the admissions people there spent SOME time on you, lol. Thats why I am applying to Harvard. I am going to frame the rejection letter to my dorm room, and use it as motivation.
