ehhh I hope I'm doing this right!

Curriculum Rigor: can only start taking real AP classes (aka: not AP Chinese) junior year; did not take any honors classes
Senior Year: AP Lit, AP Calc AB, AP Studio Art, AP Enviro Sci, Gov/Econ, Ethnic Studies

*took the SAT I only once (took it cold), but I'm self-studying now to retake in October. Not planning to do anything about my SAT2s

*my extracurriculars are about depth/interest, not breadth

Awards: a lot of art awards at the regional, national, and international level

Essays: just speculation/I imagine them to be good, since I'm usually a strong/creative writer
Intended area of study: a toss-up between Business and Economics, and ideally I would like to complete a minor in Art (or equivalent)

Looking at:
Berkeley, LA, SD, SB, Davis, Irvine

So?!

Berkeley - reach to high reach, but you should apply though.

UCLA - low reach

I suppose you could get into SD, SB, Davis, Irvine without too much of a problem. However, Berkeley and LA could be reaches.
Chance me please? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/974360-chance-uc-colleges-special-case.html

These stats were REALLY REALLY similar to mine last year and I got into Berkeley, SD, SB, Davis, Irvine. Just do good on your personal statements and you’ll be set.

Well that was about what I expected - thanks for the input!

Berkeley being more of a reach than UCLA, lol, I would say UCLA is more of a reach then Berkeley, because UCLA criticizes applicants much harder then Berkeley the last time I checked.

^ Then perhaps you’re a very lousy researcher.

The average admitted students at Berkeley are significantly stronger than those at UCLA. The average enrolled students at Berkeley are stronger than those at UCLA.

And, kindly take note that the stats provided by UCLA on their website are for admitted applicants. And historically, admitted applicants have higher/stronger stats than enrolled stats (which Berkeley has provided by on their website.)
