<p>Background:
White male
Mediocre at best public school in So Cal.</p>

<p>GPA: 4.5
UC GPA: 4.19
UW GPA: 4.0
Scores: (sent both SAT & ACT)
SAT: 590R 700M 680W -1970 total
ACT: 30 (retaking and expecting at least 31, probably 32)
SAT II: Taking Math II and Physics; my guess for scores: ~700 & ~640 respectively
AP: AP Environmental (3) AP US History (4)</p>

<p>Senior Schedule: IB Hist of Americas, AP Stats, AP Calc BC, English ERW (kinda between ap and normal), Chem Honors</p>

<p>Sports:
Varsity XC (Captain for 1 year)
Varsity Track</p>

<p>Major EC activities: President of School Finance Club</p>

<p>Other EC activities: Environmental Club, Math tutor (5hrs a week), Youth basketball coach (7hrs a week)</p>

<p>Work Exp: Grocery Store Courtesy Clerk 16 hrs a week for about a year.</p>

<p>Awards: Honor Roll, Some random math award for a class, most valuable varsity (XC), most improved varsity (tack)</p>

<p>Personal Statements for UC: Not too crazy about them, but I think they are better than average</p>

<p>UCSB, SDSU, and UCSC are pretty much guaranteed in for you, I think. </p>

<p>Berkeley and LA are really competitive, so I’d call them low reaches or reaches.</p>

<p>Cal Poly Engineering is also competitive, but I think you’re probably in. I’d call it a high match to very low reach.</p>

<p>With your 4.0 uGPA, you will be a competitive applicant for all the schools listed. Unfortunately, your test scores are somewhat below average for Berkeley and LA, so try to bring that up and you’ll be within match/high match.</p>

<p>Yeah, I’m hoping my Personal Statement will push me over the top for UCLA and UCB. If not, I’d still be ecstatic about going to UCSB/Cal Poly SLO/SDSU!</p>
