UC Davis Acceptance

Who here is waiting on Davis? With my UCSD and SB decisions still pending, I have a feeling the "fallback" school that is UCD will be the only one that accepts me. :/
I'm a linguistic major with an approved TAG and a 3.42 GPA. Thursday cannot come fast enough.

How sure are you that they will post decisions on Thursday?

80% sure. I read it from 3 different sources.

is that everyone decisions or just some of them?

On the UC Davis Undergraduate Admissions Facebook page it says decisions will come out for freshman on Thursday only and transfer decisions will come out on a rolling basis in the month of April. Many people asked that question on the Facebook page, and many sources said we will receive decisions in April. I will be stoked if decisions are released on Thursday for transfers though! Where did you read this information?

why does everyone think if they didn’t get a decision in the first batch they didnt get in? if you read the sites it says they will be releasing decisions till may 1st. that is still 1 month and a half of decisions…i swear you guys stressing over decisions is making you think irrationally. “OHH NOOO I didnt get into the first decision batch so I MUST be rejected…pants”

I read the same thing @annashlynn. The website states multiple times that freshman applicants will be notified this week and transfers will be notified throughout April. Maybe you mis-read something @Jiansen?

Probably, but we’ll find out. They never fail to surprise us after all. :)

I spoke w/a Davis rep and she said April is definitely when we’ll hear back from them. I have a TAG so I’m not too worried about it, but still… :P

If I remember correctly, I got accepted to Davis on April 12 last year. So, mid-April is right.

if Davis is a “fall back school” to you then youre crazy. I’m praying I’ll make it in there haha

^ same here Davis is my dream school

Davis is a back-up school for me as well along with Irvine. But that’s only if something REALLY bad happens with UCSB even though I’ve already been admitted.

^ how are davis and irvine back up schools for ucsb? all three of those schools have similar admission. A back up school is a school that is easier to get into than your first choice. for example davis would be a back up school for cal.

Well the Davis TAG is only 2.9 while the Irvine and SB tag is 3.2, so saying they have similar admission standards is kind of not true.

Davis question: when i applied for davis i had a 2.6 and then after that fall i got a 3.1 what the chances of me getting into Davis and which gpa are they going to look at? :O

They look at the GPA after Fall quarter. So they approved it while you had a 2.6? If they approved it, then I guess you’re set.

^ davis tag varies from 2.9-3.1 depending on major. irvine is 3.0, and sb is 3.2 because of space limitations. And you can’t judge admission standards based on TAG lol. If you look at all the people admitted freshman and non-tag, all three of these schools have pretty much the same level of standards for admission. Therefore calling ucd a backup school would be plain wrong.

hmmm i got rejected for TAG but i still applied for regular admission so yeah chances on regular admission?

@twistnswif
Point taken. I personally consider Davis a backup school because, other than IMO better chance of admission, it’s a school I less desire to go to.

@raacheeel
Of course you got a chance! Just because you’re a regular applicant with no guarantee getting in doesn’t mean it guarantees rejection.
