normally, i’d be pretty upset. but half an hour before receiving my rejection via e-mail, i got accepted to ucsb. by the way, i’m cc’ing out of state so my situation may not be relevent to most others.

my question is this: is it at all likely that you could rejected from ucd but then accepted to ucsd?

Wow cant believe they are doing a waitlist. Last year most of you guys would have probably gotten in…I guess this whole TAG application surge really made things tough.

I agree with dmitry Ana, don’t worry too much. If you applied to any other uc’s keep checking, I got accepted by ucsb and rejected by ucd today. And my gpa’s lower than yours, so I’m sure you’ll be fine.

Here’s what the email said:
Thank you for applying to UC Davis for fall quarter 2011 admission. We have carefully completed the review of your application and would like to offer you a place on our waitlist. Please know that your application impressed us, and we hope to admit students from our waitlist if space becomes available.

At this point we do not know how many, if any, waitlisted students will be offered admission to UC Davis. The number of students offered admission from the waitlist depends entirely upon the response to our initial offers of admission, which we won’t know until after June 1. Although we anticipate filling all seats in the transfer class with those admission offers, we will admit students from the waitlist to fill any remaining seats.

If you choose to accept a place on our waitlist, we will notify you of our final admission decision as soon as we know whether we can make additional offers of admission—starting June 1, but no later than July 1. We understand that you must respond to admission offers from other colleges by June 1 and strongly recommend you accept an offer at another college by that deadline. If we are able to offer you admission and UC Davis is your top choice, you may cancel your acceptance at the other college and enroll at our campus.
o accept a place on our waitlist, please log in to MyAdmissions using your UC Davis Student ID (996774916) and reply to our offer by May 15. On MyAdmissions you will also find additional information about the waitlist process. You will also receive an official waitlist notification letter in the mail shortly.

If you’ve already been admitted at the college of your choice, then there is no need to accept a place on our waitlist. We wish you well in your future educational endeavors.
