Ohh man, you guys don't know how lucky you are to be going to UC Davis. Seriously, this is the greatest time to ever be an Aggie. So you have the brand new ARC (Activities and Recreation Center), this place state of the art, even if your not into sports you're going to find yourselves playing on the racquetball courts or taking the unending free classes from Swing to Aerobics. We’re transitioning to D1 in all sports, if you’re from the Bay Area go to the football game at Stanford in September before school starts, show them who is “The Real Farm.” By the time your sophomores we should have the new football stadium built, fyi we’re the only college in the NATION that is building a football stadium right now. When your juniors we’ll be full time D1 and for basketball, the Pavilion should be crazy, we’ll make it the rowdiest arena in the Big West conference as the Aggies play for a bid in the NCAA tournament. Former Aggies wish they could be around for this exciting time. Not to mention, it’s still DAVIS, a great college town with a great college atmosphere. In Davis there is something in the air that makes people friendly, I don’t know what it is but there is a sense of community here unmatched at any campus. Come to visit on April 16th for Picnic day, it sounds lame, but epitomizes what’s great about Davis. Also if want more info on Aggie Basketball check out www.ucdavis6thman.com, the 6th Man was just made this year and it’s looking to grow.
P.S- If you were rejected, don't be afraid to appeal, I have many friends that got in on appeal. And if you realllllly want to be an Aggie, I had one friend that personally went to the admissions office to turn in his appeal, that made quite an impression and he got in.

wow, thanks for that info, i am a real sports buff and the prospect of watching d1 bball and fball at davis makes it a lot more intriguing over uci and cal poly.......btw, can u tell me how the weather is around their? isnt it usually hot and muggy and ur basically surrounded by cow crap. (i visit sacramento all the time and i have become accustomed to the manure when passing tracy and lodi)

The weather is never muggy in Davis and believe it or not the air is fresh, the cow smell only comes in on rare occasions when the wind is just right. In winter it can get cold, but when it is cold that means we go up to the snow. The biggest club on campus is SOS (Ski or Snowboard), so even as a freshman it isn't tough to get to Tahoe. Spring is quite possible the ideal weather, as I type right now the weather has been perfect in the 70s and the Frisbees have been flying. Plus the campus is sooo green, it's amazing every path way is lined with trees and students treat the quad like a beach. After spring it can get reaal hot, but all the classes are air conditioned, and just like in the 50s our gigantic Rec Pool is the no pun intended the cool place to be (haha, only in Davis).
-Also as a sports fan just to let you know, our football isn't going to be D1 we're transitioning to D1-AA. But the football stadium (15k) that is being built has future expansion plans to sit over 30k, so in the future we'll be D1-A and playing for bowls, probably won't happen when we're students though. But either way football is football, and the incoming students are going to be pivotal in helping Davis continue to evolve into a true big time sports school.
