*****uc davis class of 2020 decision thread*****

I didn’t see a decision thread for UC Davis, but please let me know if there’s already one out there.

I just thought I should make one since decisions are coming out pretty soon!

Good luck to everyone

Yah same ;/

Super anxious about UC Davis! I hate waiting! It’s one of my top choices, and I don’t know if I’ll get in. What do you think?

UC Weighted GPA: 4.07
ACT: 33
Subject tests: Math 2 = 780, Biology (molecular) = 670

Extracurriculars:
-Hospital volunteer
-Internships at medical office and museum
-Tutored kids at library, unpaid

Over 300 volunteer hours total
-Secretary of club at school during junior year
-Did track and field for one year as a sport

ELC: Yes

Applied for neurobiology, physiology, and behavior

What do you guys think my chances are?

I can’t wait to for next month! I applied to Wildlife, Fish, and Conservation Biology
GPA: 4.25
ACT: 29 (Stressed out test taker. English 31, Mathematics 25, Reading 34, Science 24, Writing 33)

I have about 300 community service hours- I volunteered at the SF zoo for three years, created a food and supply drive for homeless teenagers, and did some odds-and-ends hours at different events

I’ve done track and field all four years (100 meter, 200 meter, 4X100, discus throws) and cross country for one

I also have taken AP World, AP US History, and AP Language, and I’m currently taking AP Lit, AP Gov, and AP Environmental

Thank you for making this  Only a couple weeks left now!

While you’re all waiting for decisions, I’m waiting a few more months until I finish my degree here.

Man, time flies; I remember the anxiety of waiting for college decisions like it was yesterday, and that was four years ago now… My advice to all of you, whether you end up going to UCD or not, is to make the best of your college years. They really will fly by before you know it.

Good luck to everyone! Davis really is a great school, and has given me many fond memories over the years.

@mc1682 With your ACT and GPA scores, I’d say you’re getting in for sure!! Though the Bio-M SAT II might hurt a bit, it shouldn’t be a problem as you have some solid EC’s

@asiankid88 thanks for responding to me! I feel slightly more relieved, but I still am super nervous! Davis is one of my top choices! Does anybody know what time decisions come out?

@mc1682 no prob! They should come out around the afternoon. 3:00-5:00 PST i’d say. LOL and yeah don’t worry about getting in. My friend has around your scores and ECs and when he asked one of the admissions officers, she told him that he’d almost get in for sure unless there was like some criminal records or something that would heavily stain the application.

What day do they come out ?

I think decisions come out on March 13

Is there a portal for UC Davis ?

@Eager4acceptance there is a portal called UC Davis CAS. Information to access it is in one of the first emails they sent after they received your application.

@Eager4acceptance, “Ms. Sun” says UCD has confirmed that admissions decisions will be available on their portal on 3/11/2016: http://■■■■■■■■■■■■/home/uc-freshman-application-timeline/#decisions

@asiankid88 thanks a lot! I feel sort of better hahaha. I still hear of many qualified people (more than me) being rejected so that still makes me nervous  Oh well, we’ll have to wait and see!

The 13 is a Sunday so no decisions will be out then. UC Davis posted that admissions decisions will be released on the 11.

@mc1682 There will always be exceptions. But statistically, you’re fine. It’s like saying some people with an 1800 SAT score got into Harvard. Statistically almost impossible, but there are exceptions.

@mc1682 I had about the same stats as you except you may have had more jobs than me. I got in through waitlist last year so I feel like you have a good chance. Especially if you’re a California resident it should be a little easier. Also just depends on your personal statement. Good luck!

someone please chance me or give me their opinion

what are my chances? i heard uc davis never reads essays, so i was surprised when i received this.

I think it all depends on your essay tbh . It’s possible but your stats aren’t that good .
