UC Davis Class of 2022

I applied for the same econ major, WGPA- 4.3, ACT- 30, with amazing extracurriculars, all 5s on AP exams, and great essays. I got rejected. Did you have good extracurriculars or something? I really thought I would at least be waitlisted with my stats.

Accepted! International Student
SAT 1480 Happy to be college bound

I got in! Regents!

@simonlee1013 congrats! when did you get in?

I checked my portal at around 3 pm yesterday. I got an email shortly after.

I chose Biological Systems Engineering as my first major and Mechanical as second.
I got accepted in Biological Systems but now I want to pursue Mechanical, is there someway I could change my major prior of the class starting or now I need to study Biological Systems and then try for change of major?

Rejected.

I really thought I could get in, or at least waitlisted. I know my GPA wasn’t the greatest and my major was pretty hard, but I had a lot of confidence in myself. Now i’m worried if I can even get into UCI. Would I have gotten in or waitlisted if I went for some business field instead?

@chlover did you apply for fafsa to be eligible for the provost?

@Aman2010: For Freshman orientation you will attend based on your College which is Engineering. You can talk to an advisor about changing majors at that time. As a Freshman, you will be taking pre-req courses so there should be an overlap of classes between the two majors so it should not be a problem.

@iodine24: Since @chlover is a US citizen, they are eligible for federal aid so I am sure they filled out the FASFA.
Provost Award
The Provost Award is a highly prestigious award granted to high achieving admitted freshmen from various regions outside of the state of California. Recipients will receive $13,250 per year for a total of four years to assist with out-of-state tuition costs. Once awarded, it will be renewed for three years as long as the student meets academic standards and maintains enrollment requirements

My D was accepted to Animal Biology Friday night and already SIRed. How soon will she get a financial aid package, and can she accept part of it? We may not need the student loans this year but we don’t want to reject any gift aid.

@pekkla each component of fin aid will have an accept/decline button on it. My son declined loans but accepted some small scholarships. Congrats on your D getting in.

I don’t remember when everything arrived. I think the loans were there immediately, but other funds showed up as they came in.

That was in 2016, btw.

@enenalal - Focus on Tuition (must pay) then room and board (if living on campus). Read through the Financial aid carefully. The $30k number probably includes loans up to and including Parent PLUS loans. Also, let everything settle down for a few days then see what your official FAL - Financial Aid Letter, looks like.

My daughter was accepted!
Major: Design
SAT: 1500
GPA: 4.1
First one! So excited! Good luck to everyone! xo

I am starting to feel guilty seeing these amazing stat kids get rejected while I got waitlisted with below average stats… Just goes to show how much of a lottery the admissions process is.

Rejected! 3.7 unweighted 4.0 weighted. 1310 sat.

@cocoonutty I totally agree with you! It’s crazy to see these high stats applicants being rejected when I got accepted with average stats!

Don’t think he will end up going here, although it is a wonderful school and we are honored that he got a spot in COE, which is hard to land at any university.
Best of luck to those of you on the waitlist. I’ve seen many a kid get off UC waitlists over the years, and it does not make a hill of beans difference if you get in “regular” or off of the list. It is just nerve-racking as you wait.
