Hi! I was admitted into Davis for Computer Engineering and I was wondering how easy it was to transfer into Computer Science? Also, how good is the engineering/computer science programs here?
Super easy if its within a college. Just fill out some stuff online, submit it and wait for them to approve it. Switching from a different college into an engineering is relatively easy as well, you just need to complete the required courses with a 2.0 GPA and you’re in.
Note that CS requires a 3.0 to switch now, and you need to complete certain prereq courses ECS 20, 30, 40 and MAT 21AB). But as long as you meet those requirements, you’ll be allowed to switch.
For CSE, you need to complete PHY 9A, MAT 21ABC, CHE 2A, and ECS 30 before switching. CSE just requires a 2.0.
Those majors are not in the same college at UCD. I think CS is a LnS major.
