UC Davis Decision on MyAwards

so if were not sure if were in or not… whats the point of checking our financial aid status…? were just back at step one… meaning the appeal page theory

I didn’t TAG to Davis. However, there is a section of “Satisfied Global Requirements (required for all funds)” section underneath my “Not-Satisfied Global Requirements (required for all)” section. So I guess this is a good sign.

@derse4444: Yes, it’s a good sign.

LOL okay guys, lets get this stuff straight. I didn’t discover these tricks. Other people from previous years found them and posted them on previous years’ threads; I just redistributed them over here in this year’s thread. Here’s the final say on everything:

If you get the Appeals form and your FAFSA says “Not Satisfied”, you have probably been rejected.

If you get the “Sorry” message and your “Admissions Application Decision” (in the FAFSA page) is under the “Satisfied Global Requirements” section, then you have either been accepted or waitlisted.

If you get the “Sorry” message and your “Admissions Application Decision” (in the FAFSA page) says “Not Satisfied”, then the FAFSA office hasn’t updated your status yet. It takes time for this to happen and will occur on a rolling basis from now until the 19th. Just hang in there, it WILL change if you have the “Sorry” message.

Luckily, no one has gotten the “Appeals” form AND the “Satisfied” message for the FAFSA so it’s keeping our theories intact. Again all this stuff is based on stuff that’s been proven from previous years and isn’t something new this year. I’m pretty sure it applies to this year too, that’s why I even made this thread in the first place.

Also, when the official decisions come out, please indicate what your appeals page the FAFSA status said. That’ll clear this mess up lol.

oh okay… ic ic. damn it would suck i got all these hopes up just to be waitlisted haha… davis is my number one… i would pick davis over ucsd/ucsb :)

Did anyone here apply for the regents scholarship?

Hey guys, I am not sure if this really means anything but in reference to the appeal thing… I was accepted to UC davis in fall 2012 but couldnt attend so I re applied for this upcoming fall 2013. when i logged in to the appeal thing you guys were talking about it showed both my fall 2012 and fall 2013. when I clicked on fall 2012 it gave me the “only non selected” reply (obviously since I had already been accepted for that year) and when i cliked on the fall 2013 it gave me the same message. maybe it does mean that ive been accepted, may it doesnt, just thought i would share that. hope it helps.

@joker I understand your skepticism but I wanted to mention that this thread isn’t a representation of the Davis application pool. Less people will report they got the “appeals” page than the “sorry” message (voluntary response bias!). I assume that’s why those who saw the appeals page mentioned it immediately after I posted the trick. After we came close to the conclusion that the appeals page means you’ve been non-admitted, barely anyone with the appeals page said anything.

I was so relieved to see those getting their statuses changed to Satisfied also having the “sorry” message! Keep checking those statuses guys! The only thing keeping me on edge right now is being waitlisted…10 more days!

@mintyy
Nice observation and i agree with the fact that alot of individuals who got the appeal message wouldn
t post it if they know that it means they
re rejected. I guess i should be more optomistic haha. We`ll just have to wait 10 more days to see. Good luck to everyone!

@cinnabon I heard they don’t admit anyone off the waitlist some years.

I did the TAG for Poli Sci

When I log in, both the FAFSA and Adm. App. Decision are located under “Satisfied Global Requirements.” When I click on Adm. App. Decision it has the following message:

“This requirement indicates whether the Financial Aid Office has confirmed your admission to UC Davis. The Financial Aid Office cannot process your financial aid until your UC Davis Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) is confirmed.
If this requirement does not show as satisfied, please visit the UC Davis Admissions website to review your admission status.”

What does this mean? I don’t know. But that’s what I got.

Good luck ya’ll!

@ghiblijiang: Nope, that’s only for Freshmen. They admitted 0 people off the waitlist for freshmen. Quite a few people got off the waitlist for transfers (even for Bio… the guy that I showed you in my last post was accepted off the waitlist with a 3.2 GPA).

@alonsoramirez: That’s just the description for what Admission Application Decision means. And it’s pretty clear by the line “This requirement indicates whether the Financial Aid Office has confirmed your admission to UC Davis.”. It plainly says that if you get “Satisfied”, the Financial Aid Office has confirmed your admission to UC Davis (aka, you’ve been accepted or waitlisted).

I hope I won’t be on the waitlist the first place. That’ll save the stress for my chemistry class.

alrite my “not satisfied” for the financial aid part completely disappeared…but I don’t have FA! anyone else having this problem?

^What do you mean by “completely disappeared”? If the “Admissions Application Decision” line is right underneath the “Satisfied Global Requirements” header, then you’re all set. It’s the same thing as the requirement being changed to “Satisfied”.

@cinnabon You should apply to become a community admin for collegeconfidential. They owe you at least a minimum wage job considering the amount of time you’ve spent keeping this thread alive.

@GreenFlame Take a screenshot.

^Hahaha, idk man I’m just another anxious UC Davis applicant that’s all. I’m pretty sure I won’t be coming on here that often once I actually enroll there next Fall and get started with classes (assumming I get accepted). :stuck_out_tongue: Thanks for the compliment though. :)

@cinnanbon: oh for real? haha all right that’s exactly what I see on my screen. thanks yo. i am excited.

@ghibli: it’s literally as cinnabon described it lol

My daughter tagged for the Design major, 3.65 gpa at tag, and will have completed IGETC as well. She will also have her AA in Studio Art, and her gpa has gone up. With the tag, I don’t think there is any chance of not getting in as she has met all the requirements on her tag.

She gets the ‘sorry’ message. FAFSA is blank under status.
