@Almalex5 try finding that email they sent you. They should have stated your Id # there

Sent from my HTC One X using CC

I never got an email. I though it was weird that I never got one after I applied, UCLA sent me an email, but I never got one from Davis. I’ve checked my spam and deleted messages too

@Emprex I need the student ID to make a login

@almalex5: You never got an email from UC Davis back in late December/early January?? Here’s the email that you should have gotten:

I highly recommend you call UC Davis on Monday. Seriously, if you haven’t received this email, it could mean that they haven’t received your application (which would be extremely weird and a bad thing to realize this late into the applications process).

@Cinnabon1234 Yeah I never got that, I’ve saved every UC email I’ve received so far too.

And I hope they received it! I only applied to LA and Davis, I felt I was safe to only apply to two schools because of TAG. I’ll give them a phone call.

@expouc13

to your #351 post: exactly. I personally think I might have been rejected cuz people around me with Econ major have already got their rejection/acceptance message. Even though it seems UCSB will post decisions as soon as they finish the review, it’s still possible for them to gather the rejection letters and release them together at the end of April.

But who knows? my first choice is Davis, whether UCSB accepts me or not will not really drive me crazy.

@cinnabon First, I must say that you are really a cool & nice guy! I’d like to introduce my prettiest female friends to you, lol.

To your #340 post, you were saying that it was still possible for “sorry” message to get changed? The information from #338 post really scared me. Hope these two tricks won’t conflict with each other.

@tcccom yeah I think you may be right. Some of my econ friends have already gotten thier decisions as well…

Well I’m pretty confident that our decisions post are not pending for the reason that our “Application is still in review” because I called UCSB about 3 weeks ago to inform them about a mistake on misreporting a class on my application. They directed me to a counselor who opened up my application and told me, “I will make a note to the person who has reviewed your application.” And added that regardless of that mistake it did not affect my decision status. Like she was literally looking at my rejection or acceptance decision while she was on the phone with me.

So maybe our decison post are still pending due to econ being so impacted (@cinnabon1234) and SB not having a waitlist this year. That maybe we are just borderline applicants and they’re just waiting for people to SIR and are evaluating to see if they can make room for us??

I know that may be a reach but just trying to reason this admissions nonsense. However, I’m with you I would choose Davis over SB anyway but I would still love the option.

What’s your GPA by the way? :slight_smile:

(*sorry for all the grammar mistakes- I’m on my phone)

Sent from my HTC One X using CC

^ yea right, I agree with you. What you mentioned is definitely possible to happen. So I guess we’ll just have to wait for the conclusion, but actually most likely we will know from UC Davis first. Best of luck to you bro!

my gpa is 3.35 after January update. Kinda lay on the borderline, this could be a reason why I have not heard from UCSB yet. @cinnabon was right, Econ major @ UCSB is impacted. However, regular Econ @ UC Davis is not impacted, but it’s the NO.1 popular major for junior transfer. I don’t know why, hehe.

@almalex5
check you application status here <a href=“UC Application - Message from the system”>UC Application - Message from the system;

Login and click on Application Status. Mine shows the schools that I applied to and the date that I submitted them?

Didn’t you realize this when you had to had to do the Transfer Academic Update (TAU) with your Fall 2012 grades??

@Justlookinn Thats the weird thing, the UC application website says that I applied to Davis. I double checked when I did my TAU, and then didn’t think much of it.

From the UC application website:
“Campuses & Majors
Campuses
Campuses selected
UC Davis
UC Los Angeles
Majors
Campus
Davis History
Los Angeles History (Pre)”

and my application status
"Campuses selected

Campus Date Forwarded
Davis 11/30/2012
Los Angeles 11/30/2012
Your University of California application for admission has been successfully submitted and forwarded to your campus selection."

So I guess I’ll wait and see

@tcccom: Haha thanks man! And don’t worry about the status changing. I only meant that the FAFSA status could change from “Not Satisfied” to “Satisfied” for some people at the last minute (ie 2 or 3 days before decisions come out). I really don’t think there’s any chance for people to have their “Sorry” message change to an appeal form or for their “Satisfied” message to “Not Satisfied”. So don’t worry, if you have the “Sorry” message and the “Satisfied” message right now, you’re pretty much set.

And also, the person who posted #338 hasn’t responded to this thread at all… Idk if they were just ■■■■■■■■ or what, but I’m starting to doubt their piece of information. They could just be trying to stir things up lol.

yeah for me today (4/14/2013) the appealing denials page says “Sorry, only non-selected applicants can appeal their decision”, however the UCD FASFA requirements for admission application decision is under the “not satisfied section”, and its still about 5 or 6 more days till decisions come out.

Hmm it’s interesting that there are a few people who don’t have satisfied yet. Besides me I was looking through the pages and noticed only like 6 others had satisfied right?

have you been accepted yet?

Oh we don’t find our official decision yet until April 19th. But I already have the Satisfied thing, and the Sorry Message on the appeals website

@HokumPeddler

Thanks! I appreciate the info

Hmmm, I think I just dug up something interesting from 2011’s Davis Thread:

(Scroll down to Post #117)
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/1107884-uc-davis-acceptance-8.html</a></p>

Seems like some people had their Financial Aid posted 3-4 days before official decisions came out and they received an official email about it. However, it also seems like only people with the “Satisfied” messages got the email (and had their Financial Aid posted). People who had their status change to “Satisfied” later on, got their Financial Aid at a later time (along with the email).

I think this backs up what I’ve been saying on this thread so far: People who have had their Financial Aid processed already are the ones who are getting the “Satisfied” message. To put it another way, if you still have the “Not Satisfied” message (and you have the “Sorry” message), it means that the Financial Aid office hasn’t processed your aid yet. If my speculation is correct, everyone with the “Satisfied” message should have their Financial aid posted in the next 1-2 days (along with the email)… of course, this is assuming that things go like they did back in 2011. Also, if you’ve been rejected, your FAFSA will never ever ever change to “Satisfied” lol. I mean, there’d be no point in the Financial Aid office taking the time to calculate money for rejected applicants.

I’ve got a theory on this stuff for you guys btw: Maybe the Financial Aid office completes its evaluation based on how much aid people need? It would probably take more time to evaluate applicants if they need more money (they would figure this out based on the Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) number that’s listed on your FAFSA). I know I’m getting $0 in aid this year (I only applied for FAFSA so that I could access this trick LOL :D), so maybe that’s why my status changed to “Satisfied” in the first batch?

How about you guys? Everyone who has the “Satisfied” message already (if you don’t mind me asking), how much do you expect to receive in aid for next year? Is it a whole lot (which would derail my theory), or is it a relatively smaller amount?

I’ll say this, my family has a VERY low income, a family of 8, and 2 other siblings going to college, so your theory might be incorrect? Because UCSC, CPP, and a few others who released their FAFSA for me… Lets just say they are giving me a lot of money, and I don’t think I need to work.

Could this mean that people who already received Satisfied, and the Sorry message mean they are pretty much accepted? While people who haven’t been satisfied yet might most likely be waitlisted?
