UC Davis Decision on MyAwards

@cmcd91 Did it smell like cows? Hows the residence hall if you checked it out? Hows the city? Hows the nightlife there?

It only smelled like cows in one area when I drove by, not on the actual campus tour itself. Unfortunately I didn’t get to see the dorms because I came late from touring another school on the same day, and I did so much walking my legs were sore the next day. (The campus is HUGE.)
I hear the nearby food is awesome though. I loved the ARC (campus gym) with a starbucks next to it.

I’m not sure about the last two questions you asked, but I will be checking those out on transfer admit day if I’m accepted. It’s definitely worth seeing.

Both of my older brothers graduated from Davis (2009 and 2012) and they both told me that one can feel very comfortable there.

I’m only aware that it smells like cows around the newly remodeled dorms (tecero) but most of Davis doesn’t really smell like it, though the common misconception. Davis has an awfully big campus compared to most of the others, which makes it convenient for biking. My brother informed me that you should really talk to someone who’s been there or currently enrolled to learn the knows such as the biking circles, using a fender on your bike when it’s raining, get used to wearing a pancho instead of being an idiot and riding with am umbrella despite wind conditionings, learn the campus so you don’t have to use a map while riding a bike, etc etc.

AND THE ARC IS AMAZING.

Oh, and snowboarding destinations are like an an hour and a half away.

Ok, so I should probably clear some of the confusion up for you guys:

First off, I apologize for not being more clear and explicit about what I meant by the “FAFSA” being “Satisfied”. @HopingToXfer, you are correct. I meant that the “Admission Application Decision” needs to show up as “Satisfied” on your MyAwards page. I am NOT talking about “Free Financial Aid Application”. That message will always show up as “Satisfied” as long as you have submitted a FAFSA (either complete or incomplete).

@ac40507: I really think it’ll help us diagnose your situation if you post a couple of screenshots. And are you sure you were referring to the “Admissions Application Decision” part when you said it showed up as “Satisfied”?

And remember guys, the Appeal Trick is something that we found this year, so it hasn’t been proved yet. However, the FAFSA trick is more reliable and has been around for years. So until we get an official confirmation on the Appeal Trick working, I would say that its best to rely on the FAFSA trick. 4 more days!

So, I did this trick about 2 weeks ago and myawards said “not satisfied” but my appeals page said " i’m sorry".
I checked my awards today and it said satisfied :))))

So to whoever is getting not satisfied and i’m sorry, check again!
Maybe everything is updated!

^Good to hear! I’m sure they’ll be releasing a batch of “Satisfied” for more people either today or tomorrow, so keep checking guys!

Also, for those of you who’re still confused on how the FAFSA trick works, this is how it’s supposed to look if you’re getting the “Satisfied” message:

http://s23.postimg.org/i4gudnu0b/davis.png</a></p>

Notice how it doesn’t actually say “Satisfied” next to the “Admission Application Decision”… However, that section is underneath the “Satisfied” header.

Hope this clears up most of the confusion!

@cinnabon1234

Mines look a little different than yours. I do not have the “not-satisfied global…” bar on top of the satisfied bar.

http://s10.postimg.org/cilxh7ii1/davis.png</a></p>

@ucturtle, mine is exactly like yours…I’m wondering if that means anything :/

Hmmm, interesting. Btw, the link that I posted up there isn’t mine. It’s from @physloop49 who posted on the http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/1490153-uc-davis-fall-2013-transfer-decisions.html</a> thread.

He/she has a 3.15 (or a 3.2) GPA and applied to Computer Science. Since Computer Science isn’t impacted, I believe he/she has been accepted. So no, I really don’t think it means anything if you have the empty “Not Satisfied” header.

Here’s mine btw, just thought you guys would find it helpful:

And this is what mine looked like for last year when I was rejected as a freshman:

I got a letter from UC Davis today, talking about it’s campus and all that. :)

^I want one. :(

Has anyone else been getting emails or mail from UC Davis? I haven’t been getting anything and its kinda making me paranoid that I might be on the waitlist. :(

I was surprised to get a Letter from them when I came home, ITS A SIGNNN

Well then… time to call my parents and ask them if I got anything LOL.

LOL GO AND ASK. I just looked inside it again and they gave me a sticker too. haha YAY

^Okay, I DEFINITELY want that packet now. Are you sure its not your acceptance packet LOL?

And guyssss did anyone else get this too?

I’m not sure. I don’t think it is an admissions packet? The letter doesn’t say I’m accepted or not. Ill take a picture of what they sent me.

http://i49.■■■■■■■.com/2lc32px.jpg</a></p>

LMAO they’re definitely trying to lure you in.

Btw, does the packet say anything about your major? Maybe this is something that’s Managerial Econ-specific?

I didn’t get one either! I want it!

^It’s okay dude, even if we don’t get this packet, we’ll still get our official acceptance packets in the mail in a week or so (hopefully)!
