UC Davis Economics Major TAG Chance?

What is the TAG GPA and General Admissions GPA requirement for Fall 2015?
Is the Economics major impacted?

I have an overall of 3.31 GPA
Major GPA: 4.00

I'm really hoping I can get in, any tips and feedback on my eligibility would be greatly appreciated as well!

TAG requirements for UCD are here. 3.2 for College of Letters and Science.

Doesn’t look like econ is impacted at UCD so you’re in luck.

@k4201505‌ Thanks for the reply. My Assist GPA is a 3.21 and my Overall GPA is a 3.31. Do I still have a chance?

Are all your prereqs for the major completed or will be completed by end of Fall 2014? If so, I would say you have a solid chance.

I have only 2 courses left (Micro and Business Calculus) which I will complete by the end of Fall 2014 with A’s.
Thank you!

@refreshe18‌ I’m currently taking a summer course (Sociology) and I was wondering if dropping it would affect my chances for tagging?

If I drop this course, that would make a total of 3 W’s. Only 2 of them being UC Transferable courses and the other one in which I retook and got an A.

@SasukeCA It has been pretty well proven that W’s dont matter from these boards and I have to agree. As for the tag application, and I hope someone can correct me if I’m wrong, will be based on your assist course works. So make sure to maintain that 3.21 gpa or higher and try to pass your last 2 prereq classes with a B or better. I might even recommend taking assist courses that are easy to get A’s (based on prof, hw, test, etc). Just look over the tag matrix under UCDAVIS and make sure to meet each requirements like complete 60sem/90 quar units, etc…

Like I said, I think you have a good shot getting in, and I see no reason why you shouldn’t if you complete all the requirements.

“I have only 2 courses left (Micro and Business Calculus)”

One thing I would look closer into and either call Davis or ask a counselor at your CC about is if you can TAG with just Business Calculus. This doesn’t mean you can’t get in through regular admissions though as that is exactly what I did, I’m a UCD econ transfer who will be starting next fall and I took business calc, stats, micro, macro at my CC but I still have to take Calc 2 at Davis (Math 16B).

I don’t know what CC you go to but I went to Irvine Valley College and the assist page made it look like I could either take Business calc OR regular calc 1&2 but what it actually means is Business calc & calc 2 OR Calc 1& 2.

I still think you will get in through regular admissions as I had similar stats 3.3 GPA (though I took some honors courses). I just don’t think you can TAG with only Calc 1 to Davis and I believe this past year was the last year that UCSB let econ students substitute the second calc 2 class with stats instead.

@MAXsays‌ Hey! Really glad to see your post. I just sent you a private message. Hope we can discuss there.

Thanks @refreshe18‌ ! By the time I finish on Spring Semester, I will have completed over 78-79 semester units, and I believe Davis has a cap limit of 80 semester units (from Tag Matrix PDF file you provided), so unfortunately I cannot take another class :

@SasukeCA Have you attended a 4 year university already because that only applies to students who have. If you have only attended community college, then you can take an unlimited amount of units.

@refreshe18‌ I’ve only attended a community college. That’s great news to hear, I guess I should take a course over the Fall as a GPA booster.

You can take as many units as you want but only like 70 or 80 semester units will transfer over.
