I would like to design the interior of
buildings, and I heard that I would need
a degree in structural engineering to do so,
if not a Ph.d. UC San Diego says that it has
a structural engineering program, but when I viewed the
structural engineering page of UC San Diego , it appeared
that their structural engineering program is actually
more of a civil engineering program . Therefore, I’m wondering
how similar their structural engineering program is in comparison
to UC Davis’s civil engineering program .

I’m also wondering, if UC San Diego’s structural program

is different enough from UC Davis’s civil engineering program,
whether I would be fine just doing civil engineering as my
undergraduate work ; that is , would it really matter significantly if I
just got a civil engineering degree as an undergraduate, even though
I want to do structural engineering eventually ?
