**UC Davis Fall 2013 Transfer Decisions**

@cinnabon oh good gotcha goodtoknow hahaha

@Chrono: Hahaha dude, watch, you’re not gonna get an actual acceptance packet in the mail now. It’s just gonna be a small sticky note in the mail that says:

“Congrats, you’re admitted to UC Davis. You don’t get an acceptance packet because you got those stickers a few days ago. Again, congrats.”

:p

LOL. Watch that happen Cinnabon hahahaha

@word wow cancer survivor good for you! That’s a really great story. I mean life experience “story” sounds like its made up lol. Unfortunately bio is wayyyy impacted so it will be hard but w a personal statement and ambitions like that I think you have a solid chance. Man what you said about being absolutely happy even for two years is pretty deep! I have to think about that.

I’m a poli sci major. 3.80 gpa. I want to go into govt/law/finances. Something like that lol. Not truly sure yet! But I’m trying to find a balance of a top school to put on my r

I’m so nervous! 3.8 GPA for viticulture and enology, dont have TAG and I am lacking a few prerequisites… Ahhh I don’t want to wait another year!

4.0 Psych can’t wait for Friday!!!

@wine

Good luck! That’s a pretty high gpa (same as me lol)
Is viticulture impacted?

@seattle, thank you and not exactly… there are only 100 spots available and missing prereqs has me nervous. Not to mention I don’t have any community service or internships on my application… :-/. I guess I’ll just find out when I find out, lol. Good luck to everyone else on here too!

@wine 100 seats? Wow that’s not a lot lol. Yeah I don’t have many ECs either. Was your personal statement strong?

@seattle… Shoot if I know lol I know that sounds bad but I was way embarrassed to share with many people, so I got very little feedback :-/. You?

@wine oh man lol. I’m sure it couldn’t have been too bad. I think mine was pretty strong had my English teacher help me out lol

Some people say only UCLA/UCB read the personal statements tho so who knows!

UCB, UCLA, UCI, and I think UCM read personal statements.

@WineOh: Have you tried the FAFSA trick that was posted on the Trick Thread for Davis? Go check it out, it’ll give you a tentative sense of what got expect on Friday. The link to the thread is somewhere on the previous page I think.

And also, if there’s 100 spots for your major, Davis will admit a LOT more than just 100 people. They know that not everyone will attend Davis, so they admit more people than they can take, with the expectation that only a portion of the admitted students will actually enroll. I believe Davis uses a rough scale of 1:2.5 when it comes to admissions. There are 3000 spots overall for transfers, but they will admit around 7200 people (last year’s statistics). So for your major, you can expect them to admit anywhere from 200-250 people. Another thing to keep in mind is that Davis doesn’t check for prereqs for unimpacted majors. Your major isn’t impacted, so they won’t care that you missed a few prereqs. You also have a very high GPA, so I see no reason for you to be rejected on Friday. Hope this helps!

Oh I haven’t heard that… But then why make us suffer so long if they aren’t busy reading my oh so personal statement?!

@cinnabon, that was the best encouragement I’ve heard yet, thanks!

@cinnabon, thanks for your information. I checked out my financial award page with Davis and it does show satisfied!

@wine, That’s great! I highly doubt you got waitlisted with your GPA, so congrats!

Does anyone know if there are any trick threads for UCLA? I can’t find any :/

Hi everone!
Nervous!
2.8 GPA Communication Major, Soc Minor
I can see the appeal form :frowning:
Transfer from JC, no tag…
Counselor told me Communications was impacted but I could be admitted for my minor. All req’s are met, 2nd time applying, repeated all bad grades/w from my youth.

What do you guys think? I know 2.8 is low but for Sociology it could be ok. 114 units completed, all 3.5 or higher last 3 semesters, earned 2 associates degrees since I applied… input anyone??
