@DavisCowsRule I have around 3.5 hopefully I make the cut. all prereq completed or in progress though. mine is Biochemistry & Molecular Biology major…
@DavisCowsRule Alright, thanks a lot for the response
@jason861101 Best of luck that you make it!!
@Robhthree Don’t get discouraged - I’m just estimating, and you never know how the admissions people will decide. You have options no matter what happens - You and @askjeevs are very similar in your requested major and numbers.
Okay - So you all are starting to make me nervous about my own situation - I only applied to UCD. I had my first year at a CSU (“will most of those classes transfer” type anxiety)…and I repeat…I only applied to UCD - without TAG. I know it’s hard at this stage of the game, but try to mellow out (easier said than done). On the other hand, I’m really glad to have you all to help get through this nerve-racking time together.
hi guys, i applied last year to davis as an econ major and sadly my admission was rescinded since i dropped out of my calc course which was one of the conditions for my acceptance. I hope I can give some of you some piece of mind but when I called into admissions last year the gpa min. cut off for econ was a 2.9!! Decisions should come out soon so good luck to everyone.
TWO MORE DAYS! TWO MORE DAYS!
Guys, i’m slowly growing crazy from all this waiting. The closer the date comes, the longer the days feel.
@uuuuuughhhh I know what you mean omg T__T So close yet so far…
Anyone else here a BioSci major? Does anyone know if I’m considered behind if I haven’t finished 2 Physics courses yet? I’m kind of scared because I know there are a lot of upper div classes to complete D: I’ll be finished with the chem, ochem, and bio series + GE’s by the end of spring.
Is Admissions going to release most (or all) of the results on the 17th?
Does anybody know if there is a cut-off GPA for CS majors in l&s?
@epitome95 L&S Comp Sci is easier to get into than Comp Sci & Engineering (less requirements, too). Usually anything hovering around 3.2 could be okay. Of course, higher GPAs are better, and we don’t know how many apps went for Comp Sci this year.
@DavisCowsRule Thanks! It’s also not impacted right? Does this mean that I can get away with not finishing pre-reqs?
@epitome95 It’s not impacted, but I’d still try to get as many prereqs finished by the end of spring as possible -
@DavisCowsRule Unfortunately, for sure I will be missing two. Maybe three, if I drop my Linear Algebra class. I’m on quarter system so I can drop it by the end of this weekend without the W.
Alsoooo, TAG agreement requires that you are a full time student from spring 2014 to spring 2015 (excluding summer 2014). I was just shy of being a full time student my fall 2014 (10/12 quarter units). But, I took 5 units summer 2014, 19.5 units winter 2015 and am taking around 20 units again this quarter. Will my TAG be rescinded
As a regular applicant tho:
major: computer science
gpa: 3.27 at time applied, 3,18 after TAU, 3.21 now
ec’s: NASA STEM intern, volunteer in mexico, volunteer as a model for a charity organization, worked at a retail store for a couple months
@sliceoflife24 All decisions will be released!
@epitome95 You seem to have enough units through three quarters to have over 45 units, even without the 5 summer units. So, I think you’ll be okay for full time status (mind, I’m no TAG expert - I don’t have TAG). I’m not sure how badly they require Linear Algebra in L&S Comp Sci for transfer. Was the class part of the TAG agreement? If you were in engineering, then yeah, you’d better have it - but you’re not. If you drop it, is it because your grade in there is low? A lot of units and heavy work load? What day is the drop date? If you get into UCD, ask an advisor ASAP about the class. They might agree to let you take it during summer - They say that “they understand circumstances come up” and they are willing to work with you.
autumnfairy - Physics is recommended but not required. I too have not completed my physics series. Everything else I will have complete by end of spring.
Yeah, y’all are definitely making me nervous. Most of you have your prereqs done and have a GPA within the admitted student profile which means you’re most likely getting in (even though I know it says not to draw conclusions from the stats) and have already gotten into other schools whereas this is the only school I applied to and I applied as a lower-division transfer to nutrition science so I only have a little over half of my prereqs done. So I definitely am in a “nail-biting” situation haha.
On a side note, admissions says that all decisions will be released after 5 PM on Friday but people on this thread have reported people getting their admission decision before 5 PM? Not sure if that means all decisions will be out by after 5 PM or if they will begin posting the decisions after 5 PM.
