UC Davis Fall 2015 Transfer Thread

@penguinluver I’m wondering this too if anyone has any insight.

Waitlisted; I blame those who TAG’ed.
UCD was never my first choice–but it was a bit disappointing considering the fact that I have taken all my major pre-reqs.
Congrats to those who were admitted.

=( Ruined my whole day. Now the question becomes: do I try to TAG and stay at CCC for another year (3rd year already)? Or, do I just transfer to a CSU (which I’ve already been accepted).

I have 100 quarter units now, do I need to be full-time from now on to do tag? I can get my gpa over 3.2 all next year, but it will be a painful year. Maybe I’ll get into SCU, idk lol.

This is 100% conjecture so don’t take my word for it if you don’t want to, but I have a hunch that UC Davis is extending their waitlist and lowering their acceptances this year. Last year UC Davis was unable to accept anyone from their waitlist because there were so many applicants who accepted Davis’ offer. Without state funding increasing for the UC’s, Davis can’t accept more students (as more apply). This might be why so many 3.8+ GPA engineering majors were waitlisted this year.

If this is true, hopefully it means more waitlisted students will be brought into Davis than last year. Again this is 100% conjecture, I might just be holding on to whatever sliver of hope I have with this waitlist offer from Davis. Congrats to everyone who got in!

Here! I started a Davis waitlist discussion: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/1767529-uc-davis-transfer-2015-waitlist-thread.html?new=1

UC-UC Transfer (UC Irvine)
Major: Pharmaceutical Chemistry

I did hear from a few reliable sources that so many applications were sent to davis for freshman year (because students were opting not to apply to UCLA and cal as they felt they wouldn’t get in), that Davis had a massive number of freshmen rejections. Perhaps the same is happening with transfers.
