@HmongNotMong101 I’d assume so. The UCD rep at my school saw I spent a year at a CSU, where I did things like Comm/English and she thought I’d be fine.
Also she said they’re trying to get TAG decisions out before 11/15.
Edit: Shouldn’t this be moved to the UC Transfer sub-forum?
Major: Computer Science
TAG: Yes (odd feeling its going to get rejected)
GPA: 3.7
Pre-Reqs: All done except one class of Chem and one for math (taking both this coming term)
EC: Tutoring job for Computer Science and Chemistry, part of Phi Theta Kappa (if it matters at all lol)
Couple more EC’s from high school worth mentioning but I’m not sure they count at this point.
Chance me please?? Also applying to UCSD (top choice), irvine, santa cruz, and ucb (far reach?)
Hello everyone,
I have a concern that due to some personal problems I might be forced to drop two classes this quarter. Is there anything I can do to remedy the issue, like calling ahead to UCD and telling them about my situation, or should I just sit back and see what happens?
@avc118 I haven’t received my results yet. The UCD TAG website said the decisions will be released by November 15, so we have to wait 10 days at most! :).
@avc118@callieaustin
I know some people who heard back from UCSB about their TAG! TAG results should come out by the 15th, but since 15th is a Sunday, I heard that they release it before the weekend (so Friday!)
@musicallyweird I see. I just asked the question cause I heard today from some people who already got their TAG decisions… I should’ve actually asked which school they were tagging too. Maybe they were tagging to UCSB. @callieaustin 10 days… can’t wait!
Hey! Was wondering if anyone could tell me what my chances are…
Major: Physics
GPA: 2.96 (but doing better this semster)
TAG: Yes (I know I dont have a high enough GPA but a Davis rep said I should TAG and then update my Fall 2015 grades for the TAG when they come out)
IGETC: Yes
EC: Work part time, volunteer/intern at a dental office
Ethnicity: Hispanic
I know my GPA is low but Im striving to get at least a 3.2 this semster so the TAG can go through…does anyone think that applying to a non-selective major (Physics) helps my chances?
@megantwin I believe TAG decisions only rely to your current cumulative GPA by the time they’re reviewing your TAG (i.e., your cumulative GPA before September 30th). Your TAG would get denied even before your GPA changed.
I didn’t know Physics was a non-selective major. I thought it’d be one of the impacted majors. Anyway, I don’t really think they would accept your TAG even though the major you applied to is non-selective.
Don’t lose hope though! Even if your TAG would not get approve, just apply through the regular admissions and tell them that you are doing better this semester and will keep on getting better. Goodluck!
@avc118 I asked multiple people if it was true that I could still have a chance of resubmitting my TAG if my grades were too low this semester and they all said that yes its doable–what you have to do is make sure to put your planned classes for spring 2016 on the TAG and once it gets denied (which it will) you can resubmit it when fall grades come out.
It is a part of the College of L/S and the only impacted major in that one is Psychology actually. And sorry I didnt clarify–I meant if a non-selective major would help through regular admissions (which is what I am applying for right now as well). Thanks!
Also does anyone know if someone who TAGs for one major, if they can put that major they TAG’ed for on regular admissions AND an alternate major? Probably not but just wondering.
@megantwin I’m sure you could do that on the regular application. I don’t see why not. If you TAG’ed for another major though, then that’s the one you’ll be placed in.
@littleone23 Our TAG decision will be posted through UC TAP. It should be in the top right corner of the page when you log in under “status”. Right now it says “submitted-under review”.
@megantwin wow really? I didn’t know that. 'Cause pretty sure counselors in my school stress on the TAG eligibility every time. Or I am probably just not informed. Well, thanks for the info! Good luck!
I am super scared. I need something to back me up already. I’m getting anxious with this whole college application thing. T_T
