Uc davis fall 2016 transfer thread

Decisions for transfers come out on April 22.

I, too, have an approved TAG decision, and I’d just like to get this over with.

@Countchocula25 I’m guessing nothing from UCR yet? I’m jealous of Freshman and other UC’s who get their notifications in March.

Alright everyone. I’m back. Better than ever. Box and whiskers nothing yet from UCR. And me too. But good thing about Davis is they are super bias for transfers.

@booberry25 what do you mean they are super bias for transfers?

I think what Booberry means is that they have higher acceptances for transfers than most UCs

I

What you guys think my chances are of getting in?

Major: Cognitive Science (pre)
GPA: 3.52 (gpa will probably be 3.6-ish by the end of spring)
IGETC: Done this spring
Personal statement: College Advisor really liked it/10
ECs: Honors program, did research for the Honors transfer council at UCI. Not all that much, really.

I took a chem class I did not need, just because I liked chemistry, and I ended up getting a C. Really tanked my GPA, which otherwise, would be 3.8-ish.

You’re good. I saw you elsewhere with you cog sci major. I don’t think it’s a very impacted major at any school so you’re good unless it’s Berkeley. I’d even go as far as to say UCLA is within reach

Major: Japanese A. B.
GPA: 2.5
Assist Pre-req: 1/3 completed, but one of requirements isn’t offered and the other missing one is only recommended.
IGETC: Done by Spring 2016
TAG: No
EC: None
Applying to: UCR, UCSD, UCLA, and UCD (all pending). CSULA, CSULB, SJSU, and Fresno State (all accepted).

These are my brother’s stats since he applied here, but I saw on Davis’s Facebook page that admissions were being released (likely for freshmen) so I thought it was time to join in.

Can’t wait until we start really getting into the swing of things.

@napapapa same here. Can’t wait to start hearing back!

What are my chances?
I know I’m far far away from the ideal candidate figure but I still applied.

from Michigan State University
GPA 3.1603
Major Economics
Second Choice - Chinese
finished every IGETC except for one English course (It’s just my guess. I don’t know my credits are transferable or not)
Applied to USC, UCSD, UCI, UCD, Penn LPS, UW Madison, UMich, UIUC, Ohio State, Purdue
Accepted to UIUC, Ohio State

Late but thought I’d do it anyways!
Major: Managerial Econ
GPA: 3.8
IGETC: Done
Major classes: calc 2 left
TAG: No
EC: 300+ volunteer hours , Internship with my city
Applying to: UCD,UCSC, UCLA, and UCB
SFSU, Cal Poly, SJSU, and Sac State (all accepted, CP pending).

@PantherDuck Woah we have pretty much the exact same stats, except for the major, and I did the same thing with a science class.

Any cs majors here?

@cyan96 I’m a CS major. Looking forward to attending this fall!

@cyan96 Hey. Already TAGed.

@boxandwhiskers Oh yeah, what’s your major? Haha, what science class was it that made your GPA dropped? Funny that it was the case for both of us -_-

From: Coastline Community College
UC GPA: 2.56
Major: Japanese B.A. (with a Minor in Education)
Second Choice: Cinema and Digital Media B.A. (with a Minor in Japanese)
TAG: No, I tagged Riverside instead.
IGETC: Done
Pre-Requisites: There’s only one for Japanese, and it’s in progress. For my second choice, the only class I’m missing is Film Studies 1.
Accepted to: CSU Long Beach, CSU Los Angeles, San Jose State University, and CSU Fresno.
Applied to: UC Davis, UC San Diego, UC Los Angeles, and UC Riverside.
Rejected by: N/A

Does anyone know when decisions are going to be posted? I doubt I’m going to get in, but it would be nice to know when I can see if they took a chance on me.

@PantherDuck Sociology. It was Ocean Sciences :frowning: I mistakenly enrolled in a chemistry class without taking the proper math class beforehand that were needed to really understand it and had to drop it at the last minute and Oceanography was all that was left that had room. It sucked.
