Hey guys! It’s already April and no one’s made a UCD transfer thread, but it’s tied for my top choice school! UC Davis said transfer admission notifications will be released on 22 April, who else is excited?
There’s one in the UC Davis board http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-davis/1799092-uc-davis-fall-2016-transfer-thread-p1.html
but no one really knows it’s there. I support this one though
I am super excited and terrified.
my top choice :((
this wait is making me anxious
Major: Statistics (General Option)
UC GPA: 3.61
Major GPA: 3.77
TAG: UCR
IGETC: All will be complete by Spring 16 (taking second English writing and a Biology course)
Pre-Reqs: All will be completed by Spring 16 (taking C Programming right now )
ECs: Math tutor
Pending: UC Davis, UCLA, UCSD
Accepted: UCR, UCSC, UCSB
I really want to go UC Davis, and I heard it is a quiet campus.
Not sure if I will get into UCLA or UCSD because I am missing one major prep for both school.
The wait is really making me nervous though.
Major: Sociology
GPA: 3.51
TAG: Yes
Pre-reqs: All finished
IGETC: Done by end of this semester
EC’s: Suicide hotline, feed homeless
Pending: UCD, UCLA, UCI, UCB
Accepted: UCD TAG, SFSU, CSULB, CSULA
Scared my TAG is voided due to my spring schedule being slightly different than how I listed it when I submitted my TAG, but lots of Davis counsellors have told me it’s okay.
Davis is my top choice as well.
Major: Mathematics (Pure Math)
GPA: 3.2X (increased ever so slightly after TAU from a 3.18)
TAG: No
Pre-reqs: In progress
IGETC: Finishing foreign language requirement this semester
ECs: None
Pending: UCD, UCI, UCSC
Accepted: UCSB, UCR, CSULA
Also worth noting, I got a W, then an A in intermediate algebra like 4 years ago,
and then a W in Precalc 1 Fall 2014, followed by Cs in Precalc 1 and 2
After that I got As in Calc 1 and 2, and currently have the last 3 math courses in progress (with As! )
Needless to say, I wasn’t always in love with math lol but I did get accepted to UCSB, my 2nd choice, co I’m pretty happy either way. I just really want to go to Davis though…
Right now it’s my top choice too. My TAG was approved in November but I changed my schedule (added a class and switched one out- but it wasn’t anything i needed. Just something I selected in order to remain full-time because I already finished the igetc and only had two pre-reqs left) so i’m worried my agreement has been voided. I emailed the transfer counselor for my region to ask about this, and she thought I was asking what my admission status was, so my question didn’t get answered…
Major: Political Science
GPA: 3.4
TAG: Yes
Pre-Reqs: Final 2 in progress (weren’t available last semester)
IGETC: Done
ECs: Misc Volunteer work
Pending: UCB, UCD, UCLA
Accepted: UCSB, UCSC
At least this waiting process is almost over. It will be over before we know it!
Davis is my top choice
Major; Poly sci: public service
gpa: 3.26
Tag: No
Pre-reqs: only completed the ones offered at my cc
IGETC: completed at end of semester
Ecs: research, various volunteer work
Pending: UCD
Accepted: UCSB
Really worried about being accepted not sure how impacted my major is at UCD
I also think my personal statement was pretty strong, but I heard they don’t even read them
@slimthick I feel the same way about the personal statement congratulations on getting into UCSB though
I applied as a sophomore transfer. Davis is my top choice too, and the only school I applied to. I heard they begin to send decisions on the Friday before picnic day, which would mean on April 15th.
@equinejoon My bet would be most if not all come out on the Friday after that, but I certainly hope they come sooner rather than later!
@ananguiano The waiting is like torture!
Davis is my top choice as well and the wait is killing me! I’m hoping for the best but I know with my stats it’s a bit of a long shot.
Major: Sociology
GPA: 3.17
TAG: Nope
Pre-Reqs: Finishing the rest of them up this semester
IGETC: 1 class away from being done
ECs: Volunteering with 2 organizations and one school club.
Pending: UCB, UCD, UCLA
Accepted: UCSC
I’ve also heard mixed things about the Personal Statement. I remember getting a handout from my counselor listing the different UC’s and their admissions policies and seeing Davis does not take the Personal Statement into account. Recently, I’ve been on the Davis website and it says the personal statement is an important part of the app. Keeping my fingers crossed!
Davis is also my top choice. We have almost the same GPA, still waiting to hear from UCSC. Hopefully we can both sneak into Davis!
Major: History
GPA: 3.19
TAG: No
Pre-Reqs: Finished
IGETC: 2 classes away
ECs: Worked full time
Pending: UCB, UCD, UCSC
Accepted: CSUEB (safety)
@thenick0999 Yes! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for the both of us! I bet you’ll get in to Santa Cruz as well! I think we might have a decent shot with Davis since we’ve finished all our pre-req’s, good luck!!
Major: Economics (Normal Econ)
GPA: 3.38 (TAU)
TAG: No
Pre-Reqs: Finished
IGETC: By end of Spring 16
ECs: Internships here and there.
Pending: UCSB, UCD, UCSD
Accepted: CSULB, SJSU, UCSC
Don’t think I will end up going if accepted because I took Calculus for Business and Social Science and it doesn’t transfer as UCD’s short calculus.
They’re definitely releasing decisions on the 22nd? Is it all at once, or rolling?
Well, all they’ve said is “Admission notifications will be released for all freshman applicants on March 11 and for transfer applicants on April 22.”
Source: https://www.ucdavis.edu/news/record-86000-apply-undergraduate-study-uc-davis
I suspect maybe they’re aiming for an all-at-once notification but that’s pretty hopeful even in best case scenarios.
Major: Cognitive Science
GPA: 3.62. (I’m a CSU-CC-UC transfer and this is assuming all courses from the CSU transfer)
IGETC: Completed this spring
Major prereqs: Completed
EC: Senator chair for student government, vice chair for planning council, member of Active Minds, various volunteer positions (200 hours+), AGS honors society, working part-time
UC Programs: Summer Scholars Transfer Institute at UCI and UCB Starting Point Mentoring Program
Applied: UCB, UCLA, UCD, UCI, UCSB, UCSD, UCSC, SDSU, CSULB
Accepted: UCSC, UCSB.
Waitlisted: CSULB
Rejected: SDSU
Hopefully they do notify us all at once. I don’t think I can wait any longer.
Hi guys! Doesn’t look like either thread is too active this year but only 8 more days!!
