Last year UCD didn’t release admissions till around April 22. I’m assuming they will come out on April 21st this year (which is also when UCLA, Irvine, and SD are expected to release).
Major: Communications
GPA: 3.57
TAG: N/A
IGETC: Will be done by Spring 2017
Major Prereqs: I have completed all of them except one and that’s what I’m mostly worried about, I didn’t realize that Intro to Sociology was a prereq for UC’s communications majors so I don’t know how far that will set me back.
ECs: AIFS Study Abroad in Fall 2015, Internship for the Disney College Program Fall 2016, Rotaract Club, Dance Club, Dance TA, Ceres Community Project Volunteer, Food Bank Volunteer, Leads of school plays throughout high school, Photography Club
Other Schools applied: UCSD, Cal Poly Pomona, UGA, CSU Chico, CSU Fullerton, OSU
Accepted: Cal Poly Pomona, UGA
If anyone has any info on whether or not my major prereqs will set me back or if anything else would be an issue please let me know! UC Davis is my first choice for schools!
Major: Political Science
GPA: 3.28
TAG? No
IGETC? Will be done by end of Spring 2017
EC’s: Part of campaign for State Assembly District 27, tutor kids, working part time at H&M
Schools applied to: UC Davis, UC Riverside, Cal Poly Pomona, SJSU, CSULA, CSULB, & SDSU (got accepted to all CSUs except SDSU. Still waiting on them due to AA-T verification)
Could anyone chance me? thanks a lot!
Major: Communication
UC GPA: 3.73
Pre-Req’s: All but 2 done (one was not articulated from the current JC I am at right now)
IGETC: Done by Spring 2017
TAG: None
EC’s: High school football coach, working part time, some volunteer hours
I am very nervous about being admitted because I will not have 2 prerequisites done, but I don’t think Communication is an impacted major so I should be alright in terms of pre requisites.
I took 16 units in the fall, 6 in the winter(through other JC’s then the one I am at since they do not offer a Winter session) and another 13 this spring. Just trying to hit that 60 transferable! (I have 22 more units from a previous 4 year school).
Schools applied to: UC Davis was the only one, hopefully it works out, otherwise I am screwed.
Anyone have any idea if I am well qualified or not? any feedback would be helpful!
Thanks a lot!

@stanufb Hi! You are correct, your major is not an impacted major at Davis. You have a great GPA and I think you are a pretty competitive candidate. I wish you applied to other schools as a backup, but with that said, wishing you the best of luck!
Too nervous…
Can anyone chance me critically?
Thank you in advance guys and good luck to you all crews.

** Although A and A+ don’t have difference in GPA in my college, I got A+ on most of my major pre-req + writing courses. e.g. got all A+ on physics sequence, math sequence, and C++ sequence.
IGETC: N/A
Major Prep: All done by Spring
TAP: none
EC:
paid internship in a mid-size tech company(major related) – worked as software assistant and networking coordinator, VP of non-major-related club, 2nd place on math competition, some amount of volunteer in high school, etc.
Essay: assume it’s fine. In my standard, 7-8/10.
Can anyone chance me?

Major: Economics
GPA: 3.7
IGETC: Nope!
Pre-reqs:All done except for calc
Applied: UCR, UCD, UCLA
EC: Worked full time for a year, had several jobs. I worked as a soccer and tennis coach but my main source of income was working as a server.
Just a quick note that may affect my admission decision. I took a gap year and then decided to attempt to do a one year transfer. From this past summer to the end of this spring semester I will have taken over 60 semester units. This made it so I was not able to complete the IGETC or all the pre-reqs for my major. Thanks for giving me some insight!
Has UCD accepted anyone yet?
@ lexluther96 i was wondering the same thing… when are acceptances supposed to come out??
@lexluther96 @stanufb Nope, no transfers so far. The big day is expected to be April 21.
I saw this from a post in 2016 Thought it might be accurate since everyone in that thread in 2016 ended up getting admitted into Davis (including two sophomore transfers) who were able to get through to housing for Fall 2017.
FYI: Throughout the previous years, there has been a “trick” to determine if you have potentially been admitted or waitlisted - by checking the “requirements” satisfactory status in myAwards. Unfortunately, this trick is no longer exists this year as that “requirement” is not shown anymore.
However: I think I might have discovered a new trick!
I call this the “myBill Trick”
- Go to the following link: https://mybill.ucdavis.edu/C21642_tsa/web/login.jsp
- Use the login link for Students and Staff.
- Log in using the same user id / password you have for myAdmissions.
- Wait. Be patient. This bill portal takes time to load.
- Click the "eDeposits" tab located on the top
- Click the "Select Term" options for "Making Deposit Payment for Term".
- In the dropdown menu option, you should see "Fall 2016". Select it if you see it.
- If no error message is given, I can only assume that they have you in the system as "admitted" or "waitlisted" or "incoming transfer" - and hence the next option given "residence hall" is present (for transfers).
I cannot imagine them offering this option of putting a deposit for Housing for Fall 2016 if you aren’t admitted or at least waitlisted for Fall 2016… I’m pretty sure this is accurate, but I will try to confirm come Friday, with several of my friends who have applied for Fall 2016. Regardless, check and post here if you see the same or different!
@stanufb Have you been able to do that? I TAG’d and I can’t login to that. I’ve already been accepted by UCSD and UCSB and I fulfilled the TAG agreement, so I don’t think I’ve been rejected. But idk
yeah I was able to login and everyone in the other thread was able to log in as well. Since you tagged and it got approved already (im assuming) I guess this trick doesn’t work, which is totally possible.
Hello Everybody I’m super anxious awaiting decisions on April 21st! I hope I get admitted but I’m bracing myself for being rejected. Do I still have a chance?
GPA: 2.7
Major: History
Applied: UCD, UCI, UCB, UCM
Accepted: UCM
No TAG
Completed IGETC
I know my GPA is on the lower side and I know Berkeley is a long shot, but I hope by any chance I get admitted into UC Davis.
Do we know when UCD releases decisions?
@stanufb Hey, I was wrong! It works for me.
@stanufb I can literally make a payment right now…!!! I went through all of the necessary steps up until actually entering my CC info in!!
Does this work for any other schools? @stanufb
@lexluther96 Last year they did not release any admissions offers earlier than others. It was April 22nd last year (Friday), so we’re guessing/anticipating April 21.
