angstyangsty does your community college have UC Davis reps come to campus? Even if you don’t qualify for TAG, they should be able to provide some advice. Also, from what I understand Ws are not counted against you.

*I recieved a failing grade my first semester of college but retook the class and got an A. Will this affect my chances of getting in? I have all As and one B otherwise.
I was hoping someone here could help me. I’m a biological sciences major. I took the 2nd Organic Chemistry in the summer and got a D. I know that Organic Chemistry isn’t a required course for transferring with TAG. Will my TAG be denied because of the D or am I fine? My Cumulative GPA is 3.50 and will most likely go up to 3.60 after this semester at CC. I’ve finished Calc 1 and 2 with As. I’m finishing the Biology series and Physics series this semester. Lastly, I was planning on retaking Organic chemistry in hopes of getting an A. Any help?
Thanks! I was just confused because on UCD’s TAG criteria it said that Organic Chem and Physics should be taken for a C but won’t count towards your Biological Sciences Major Technical GPA.
Oh well that’s a different story. If it’s required for the major you need whatever grade the major requires. Usually at least a C minimum. Sorry, I was just thinking of the general D rule. If TAG says C for that course then you need a C. But you’re retaking, right?
I’m not sure how you’re thinking organic chemistry is a biology course.
Here is the biology major rule:
TAG rules stipulate you must fulfill any regulations set up within the major. However, organic is not listed above. But it is listed here:
Keep in mind these are MAJOR rules, not TAG rules. If you retake the course it should be ok. If you leave as-is, I suspect the TAG will be voided because the major will not want you with a D in organic.
If I retake O chem at a different CC, how am I suppose to indicate that on my TAP? Or is that not allowed and I have to finish the series at the same CC?
