UC Davis Fall 2021 Transfer Thread

I’m pretty sure it’s awarded to people with SUPER high GPAs. I’m not sure if extracurriculars factor into though

the davis website says "The most prestigious scholarship on the UC Davis campus, the Regents Scholarship is awarded to students based solely on their academic and personal achievements. If you will enter UC Davis as a freshman or junior transfer, you are eligible for this scholarship and its associated privileges. "

I see. Thank you for your reply!

Yep! I was asked to apply for the Regents Scholarship a few months ago.

I had no idea. The way my regents email was worded seemed super generic. I didn’t end up applying, looks like I probably should have. However, I don’t think I’m going to attend Davis anyways. Shame I missed out though :(.

Son is a CCC transfer
Major: PoliSci/Politics
3.4x GPA
IGETC - Yes
Good essay content
UCSC (no TAG) - Accepted
UCB - TBD
UCD (TAG) - TBD
SJSU - Accepted
SFSU - Accepted

Older sibs graduated from SJSU (BS in a STEM major), UCB (BA Sociology). Been there, done this before… still biting off the tips of my fingers.

WRT Regents Scholarships - one of my kids was awarded this (UCSC Transfer). That letter and the numbers were BANANS!!!

She actually turned it down, and went to CAL.

the UCSC acceptance letter has regents on it? Or does that come later. Are you talking about this application cycle or previous years?

She received her acceptance (with Regents) two weeks prior to the official announcement date. We joke that UCSC was throwing everything and the kitchen sink to get her to attend there. This was three cycles ago.

Her case may have been unique. CCC, 4.0 GPA, IGETC and every prerequisite completed including one class (I think it was Sociology Research) that is “the killer” prerequisite. At Cal (where she decided to attend, this class is responsible for many students’ first B or C in their LIVES. Only a handful of CCs have that particular class, so she came to the UC system able to declare her major. Whereas most students do so after their first semester.

Hi all! Just wanted to hop on as the middle of April approaches and hopefully admissions decisions starting rolling in! I am a transfer applicant and I am majoring in Psychology and I am eager to hear back from Davis! If anyone on this page is a transfer vet I would love to hear about around what time you received your admissions decisions and what the transfer community is like at Davis! Good luck to everyone applying!

hahahaha same here!

yes please!

Yes lol but at least we know something is coming real soon!

What did the email say? It’s my son who’s waiting to hear from the different schools and he’s pretty closed mouthed about any emails that he gets except for those pertaining to denials and admission emails.

It said that decisions will be coming out later this month. It also said to keep an eye out for an email or you can set up access to your online portal if you haven’t done so already. It wasn’t much
