Bump…

My aid was just updated… anybody else?

I guess I didn’t get regents… but I got a “Entering UG Scholarship - NH” worth 11k/year?

Not sure what to think…

I guess I didn’t get regents… but I got a “Entering UG Scholarship - NH” worth 11k/year?

Not sure what to think…

Are you sure you didn’t get regents? Have they released that yet?

@Arcade

Did you get Regents?

I am reading that the UG scholarship thing is essentially free money… which is calculated based on merit + need. Not sure, lol. It is very vague.

congratulations on getting regents @ arcadegames123

That’s what I’m hearing too Cali - I got one for $11,000 as well + pell + cal grant A
I’m goin for frees!

Cali: nah. I haven’t heard of anyone getting regents, so I’m guessing they just haven’t released it yet. It doesn’t say that they release it at the same time as admission for transfers, just for freshman. So there’s still hope!

@Arcade

I hope you are right…

What I’d do to get that money, haha.

Yeah, for some reason they’re giving me sort of crappy financial aid. At least relative to what I’m getting here at UCR. I’d have to talk to Davis’ financial aid department if I decide to go there…

Just talked to the scholarship office of Davis. They said that the Regents hasn’t been awarded yet, and will be decided by the end of the month.

If they are already offering me the Maximum amount of aid possible, what happens if I get regents?

Some one tell me what this means. (I’m financial aid ignorant)

“Eligible for the Blue and Gold Plan ect”

Total Cost of Attendance: 25k

Total Contributions: 7k

Financial Need: 18k

Total estimated financial need: 18k

Remaining cost: 0

SO HOW MUCH AM I ACTUALLY PAYING?

Also, what’s the undergraduate scholarship for 11k? Seems nice of them haha.

PS. I’m probably paying 7 thousand a year? I assume? I hope not. That’s kind of more than I thought.

No one knows what the undergrad scholarship is. It is free money essentially. I believe it is calculated based on financial need + merit. However, there is no definite answer.

Any idea how much this means I’m paying? Is it zero or seven thousand ha?

I did some research and here is what I found. The scholarship most of you are referring to is based on need. Merit only in as much as you maintain academic standards- so like a 2.0. Bleh. It a new bill passed in CA that ensures residents can afford to go to UC’s. So if you expected family contribution is less than total cost of attendance, and you have a c or better, Free money. This is my understanding, that is why so many of us have the verification worksheet to complete. The money is dependent on whether your taxes are accurate .

Curiously, the Cal Grant is absent from my package…UCSB included it in their prelim. fin. aid.

huh. yea. i was getting worried because my cal grant is not showing up on davis fin. aid as well but i have that entering scholarship. does anyone know if that scholarship is renewable btw? the “entering” part of it is what scares me.

@skoenlapper - I don’t know if that’s true. If it was, why is it that I received a $10,500 scholarship from Davis, but only a $3,500 one from Santa Barbara? Wouldn’t they have to be more or less the same, if they were all looking at the same amount of need?

okay so i am confused. for the estimated aid on the davis site, is the CALGRANT included? do i have to do anything on <a href=“CSAC - Student Landing Home”>CSAC - Student Landing Home; ? someone please clarify!

I think the Cal Grant is represented in the UG Scholarship amount. It’s >$10,000 for me, which is what my Cal Grant is.
