UC Davis Fin Aid Posted

Haha o… well it was a glimpse of hope for that one day… until the second email came out.

I don’t want to get anyone’s hope up, or cause unnecessary hair pulling, but I predict that if your financial aid reads “Admission satisfied” when you click requirements, they have reviewed your application and have admitted you.

Why do I believe this? My friend applied both as a senior in high school and now as a sophomore in college. He looked at the financial aid message from two years ago, and it reads “Admission decision - not satisfied.” He ended up being rejected. However, his admissions decision now reads “Admission decision - satisfied” for this current year, and he has very high stats.

What do you guys think?

I don’t really think it’s an indicator. Mine lists satisfied, but I didn’t receive any emails from Davis talking about my financial aid. Then again, my EFC was 47000, so I’m not really expecting any FA emails from them.

cali trumpet, i definetly appreciate the glimmer of hope that you’re providing.
& im actually in the same boat as your friend. rejected as a senior in hs, now applying to UC davis as a sophmore (intercampus transfer from ucsb). but yea, im not trying to get my hopes up or get too cocky (that’s what i did senior year) but still hoping for the best. good luck everyone & dont read TOO much into obscure emails that davis is sending out this time of year! :)

oh, & for the record, my financial aid was also taken down. siiiiigh.

I got the second email but not the first one. Silly Davis.

ugh, you guys I am having such a hard time logging into the UCDavis financial aid that everyone is talking about! It keeps making me reset my passphrase! I don’t usually have this much trouble with these kinds of things…:frowning: ugh!

nm, got it! finally.

Mine says satisfied but I asked my counselor today and he said that they send fin aid information to everyone so I don’t think it’s an indictator of acceptance

@lovesthepants why do you want to transfer to ucd?? did you like ucsb?

mine says not satisfied… now i am scared…

i got the second email, but not the first. When i logged into the website to view my FA, it said that it wasnt completed, and when they were done reviewing it, they would email me.

I received both the first email directing me to accept/reject my finaid offers, as well as the second one with the disclaimer. When I originally called in to speak to Davis’ finaid office I was told that they do not prepare finaid for every applicant. This would make sense seeing as they received over 54000 applications this fall. Davis is known for sending out wack emails, and this is no exception. I am a TAG transfer and I gather many others who received the emails are as well.

Yeah, the don’t prepare financial aid for applicants they aren’t going to admit. That wouldn’t make sense.

I havent received any emails nor has any message been posted on “MyAdmissions”.

Hopefully thats not a bad sign…

@ lakertime, ucsb’s ok, but it’s really far from home for me & im really close to my family so ucsb isnt working out in that sense. + davis offers a major that’s better suited for my hoped career path (agricultural development) that ucsb doesnt offer + personal circumstances that require me to be closer to home & davis is literally a 30 min. drive.
but i definetly wouldnt recommend against ucsb. it’s a great school academically & socially. & it really is a unique college living experience (think isla vista’s party scene). hope that helped with whatever school you’re still deciding on. :)

gahh, & i wish davis would just release admission decisions already so we could be done speculating about really obscure things. lol good luck everyone!

I think they accidently sent out the award packages to admitted students. The website they directed you to said it was for admitted, waitlisted, and current students only. It seems like they needed to retract it since admissions decisions have not come out yet. I called today and they told me that everyone that did a fafsa recieved a status but some did not get the whole financial aid break down that was posted online. And from the tone of the finanicial aid person’s voice, I could tell something was up. She said to check back April 12th because that is when the notifications will be released about admissions.

Also, from last years statistics, about 70% of transfer students were admitted, so unless you have a really low gpa or coming from an “other four year university” like me, you shouldn’t worry. CCC students have first pick, then UC, then everything else.

Did everyone’s status change? Mine now includes the message: “Please report any updates in your application information or coursework to us immediately.” at the bottom.

@ arcadefire, mine now says that too.

Mine too! Why are they waiting till late april to tell us! We’ve waited an extra 2 years… ha

I didn’t receive any information in regards to my financial aid or anything but my "myadmissions’ page changed adding a link at the bottom:

“Please report any updates in your application information or coursework to us
immediately.”

then when I click the link, at the bottom it says:

Our decision to admit you is made based on the assumption that you will complete the planned courses listed on your application and earn satisfactory grades. If you drop or change a course, or if you earn less than a “C” grade in a course, you must notify us promptly. In many cases, we will be able to accommodate your changed schedule or help you find a way to make up a low grade. Not informing us of these changes can be grounds for cancellation of admission.

I guess you can interpret this a couple different ways but it does seem like this is offered upon acceptance. Or it could be nothing and is something that everyone receives.
