UC Davis Financial Aid!

Howdy y'all! I recently got accepted to Davis, and was reviewing my financial aid. When filling out my FAFSA, I was forced to claim a large sum of money that my mom withdrew from my deceased father's IRA as income! How absurd! So, anyway, that money is NOT really income for ME! I live in California! My mom lives in Illinois, and most of the money was withdrawn to pay for my sister to attend a private school in Wisconsin!

Anyway, my Family Contribution on both the Davis and the UCLA Financial Aid website's are much higher than what i can realistically expect to have given to me by my single mother! She works a basically minimum wage job serving lunches at a Middle School(Not to knock her, just to give you an insight of how very broke we all are! >_<!) and I've been recently been laid off, but both schools still have a total combined Family Contribution of over $12,000! =[

So, my question to you all is this: When I went to my CC, they had me fill out an Income Distribution Form, which adjusted my income to the appropriate levels and got me the aid I needed(I'm not a freeloader, I swear!). ANYWAY! What I was wondering, is is there a form I can fill out for the UC's that would have a similar effect on the status of my aid!? This is seriously stressing me out, because I'm not sure I can afford $12,000 this year! =[ Any help or information any of you might have would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! =D

Idk if they have the forms… you might have to look into loans. But I’m right there with you, my EFC of over 23000. But i’m sure the financial aid office will help you even if it is with loans.

You’ll just have to get loans and work
