I still don’t get it.

cahsparent, can you please show us a step-by-step way to do this. For example, in the template it shows [ *]. When we enter information after the left bracket, do we start directly after the left bracket (without a space between the left bracket and the beginning of what we write)? Do we then leave in the asterisk? Or, is the asterisk meant to represent what we write in the bracket and so removed when we write something? Then, if this is so, do we close what we write with the right bracket and then, automatically, somehow, the thing shows up in the post the way it was meant to show without brackets or diacritical marks? Thanks!

@kellybkk Tags that make bold, bullet, italics etc… all start with a box parenthesis like this [ . Here is how tags that make something Bold works:
The line needs to start with box open [ then the letter b and then box close ].
To stop bolding you would say box open [ then the letter /b and then box close ]
The templates provides have a space after the open box. You just have to remove that space, eg [ b] This is bolded [ /b] will show like this if I removed the space between the [ and b and at the space between [ and / ** This is bolded **

Hence if you see an Box parentheses delete the space next to it.

In your example [ *] just remove the space between [ and * The content always goes between ] and [
The Asterix is a tag for bullets. ANYthing you see between [ and ] is a tag and tags should not have spaces.

[li] Personal Statement:[/ul] I spent 2 months on it. I started in in the beginning of Sept and finished it in Nov. I guess it helped me a lot to. The first prompth is about my stuggles on language (I am an immigrant) from the first day of school. The second one is about how I am a big sister and those duties I have to do for my parents due to language barrier and I ended it with how much I love my brother and sister. I like the ending a lot though. One of my best essays (another best one was the one on The Great Gatsby I wrote in my American Dream class…)
[/li]

[li] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected:[/ul] Idk, got accepted yesterday. I think my stats pretty much match DAVIS Maybe[/li]General Comments: My 3rd acceptance so far/ my application was more complicated so don’t judge me by what you see here…this is a summary/ I really believe my PS made me get in, it was not that great to the point that people would cry when they read but it was very touching I belive./ giving up my space aka …probably won’t go here sorry

For high school juniors, everybody has a hook in his life, you just have to really find one and be serious about it. Once you start writing about something personal, or even your secrets that you never tell anyone, it will flow automatically. The best is to start a PS early, not the week before you submit(lots of my friends are like this).

Hi everyone! Congrats to everyone who was accepted! I’m currently a biochemistry major at UC Davis, and I have to say, choosing this school was possibly the best last-minute, spur-of-the-moment decision I ever made (can’t say the same for some of my other ones :P). And to those of you who were waitlisted, hang in there! I got in off the waitlist, even when I thought I had zero chance of getting in.
Anyway, I’m posting to invite you all to join the Official Class of 2016 Facebook group, where you can all get to know eachother, and get advice from upperclassmen and people who work at our office of undergraduate admissions.

[Log In | Facebook](UC Davis Freshman Class of 2016 (official) | Facebook)

Join it! Experiencing the friendly, welcoming environment from my classmates at Davis just moments after I got an email saying I was accepted was one of the key factors in my decision to go to UC Davis. I had 3 days to pick, but after seeing how nice and helpful people were, I submitted my SIR that night. Honestly, there’s something here for everyone. If you give it a chance, you may quite possibly fall in love with this school! I did.

Oh, and waitlist people, I can give you tips on your statement if you PM me!
