UC Davis or Cal Poly San Luis Obispo

I applied for both schools under their Animal Science major because I really would like to be a vet. Which program would be better suited for future vets?

I got into both the schools and really can’t decide which one will be best suited for me to attend for undergrad. Can anyone help???

UC davis has the vet program in the nation!

@wabbit23 *the best vet program

UCD also has a higher percentage of their grads admitted to their Vet school, although they also have the most applicants from any UC.

Actually, Berkley is the most admitted and Davis doesn’t look at which grad school you attend that’s why I’m trying to see which one has the better program :frowning: @Gumbymom

Also I intern at a vet hospital where all four vets went to davis and they say their classmates were mostly from Cal Poly schools because they have a great program

I also want to be a veterinarian, and applied to UC Davis and got accepted for Animal Science as well, but I’m torn between choosing between UCD and UCSB. So I can understand your struggle.

For you though, I would choose UCD straight of the bat because it does have a Graduate school for Vets and you can possibly get an internship with on of the vets there. Also, there are a lot of research programs.

Tip: Try to visit both campuses before your make your decision though! I had previously thought that UCD was going to be my first choice, but after visiting the campus, learning about them, and thinking it over, I’m not quite sure anymore.

IM IN THE EXACT SITUATION RIGHT NOW!!!
